November PTO News

Happy November to our HMS community! We had so much fun in October watching our students connect and bond at our fabulous grade level parties. We are thrilled to once again report that almost all of the 6th, 7th and 8th graders were in attendance. An incredible turnout...and lots of memories made! Thank you again to all of our volunteers, contributors, and to the staff at HMS for their support! Stay tuned for save the dates for our winter 2026 grade level socials and events coming soon!

We are excited to be inching closer to our 90% participation goal in our dues initiative! If you have not had a chance to contribute yet - it's not too late!

Staff Appreciation

We are excited to bring back this beloved tradition for the HMS staff! On November 25th, staff will get to pick from an array of delicious pies for their holiday celebrations. We are estimating a cost of approximately $15 per pie this year. If you would like to make a donation to contribute to this event and help fund pies for the HMS staff, please Venmo @HMSPTO-1103 or drop off cash/check to the office. Please include "pie event" in the Venmo notes section, on the check, or on the envelope. Checks can be made payable to the HMS PTO.

Halloween Staffroom Spread

Our staff enjoyed a "Spooky Snacks and Sweets" staff room stock on Halloween. Thank you to Kelly Eaton, Brindey Marine and Amy Gredler for coordinating this spooky snack bar!

Dues: Almost to 90% Participation - Let's get there Team HMS!

Thank you to the 75% of families who contributed to the HMS PTO! There’s still time to reach our goal of 90% – and if we do, the students will enjoy a lunch block with their grade! All donations must be received by our deadline of THIS Friday, November 7th! While an amount of $45 per family is recommended, any amount you can give is much appreciated!

Thanks to your donations, we were thrilled to sponsor our One Book, One School events in September, including a virtual visit from Song of the Whale author, Lynne Kelly, complete with an ASL interpreter.

We were also excited to sponsor a Spooky Snacks & Sweets staff room stock on Halloween and are looking forward to contributing to the staff "Turkey Hunt", a staff scavenger hunt, before Thanksgiving break.
