Cultural Foods Day
Please Consider Participating
As part of our ongoing work to learn about world cultures, we are planning a Cultural Foods Day on Monday, November 20th.
We are searching for volunteers!  Can your family purchase something or prepare a recipe that our students can learn about and try samples of on Cultural Foods Day?
If so, we would love for you to participate on    November 20
th by contributing a dish.  During their Activity Periods (11:20 am - 12:55 pm), students will be able to view the cuisine that is brought in, learn about foods from around the world, and try some samples!  Foods from all cultures are welcomed (a list of ingredients may need to be provided).
If you are able to contribute, please contact Andy Phillips at PhillipsAndy@tesd.net to get more details.
Thank you for your support!

When to Keep Your Child Home
There may be times when you're not sure it is necessary to keep your child home from school. Here are some symptoms that may mean your child is sick and should stay home.
  • Fever (100 degrees Fahrenheit or above)
  • Chills
  • Running or inflamed eyes or nose
  • Rash
  • Abdominal pain
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Sore throat
  • Enlarged glands
  • Excessive coughing
A child should remain at home at least 24 hours with no fever, diarrhea, or vomiting following an illness. Please notify the school that your child will be absent and send a note stating the dates and reason for absence.
By following these guidelines, you will protect not only the health of your child, but the health of his classmates and school staff as well!

TEMS PTO Welcomes Acclaimed      A Capella Group, "Ball in the House"
School Assemblies
 Wednesday, November 15th, 2017
12:30 p.m. - Grades 7&8
1:30 p.m. - Grades 5&6
Ball in the House is five guys, five voices, that's it.  Taking a cappella to the next stage, with vocal drums/beatbox and vocal bass under lush harmonies, they create a sound that's hard to believe.  Following in the path of classic harmony groups like Boyz II Men, The Temptations, and Take 6, while incorporating the pop and neo-soul influence of artists like Bruno Mars, Daft Punk, and Pharrell Williams, Ball in the House moves audiences with their music. With their extensive tour schedule averaging 200 dates a year, Ball in the House reaches millions. They have performed extensively in schools all around the country as well as opened for major acts and recorded the music for commercials.  Their program is jam-packed with music, entertainment and education. Ball in the House inspires students by bridging the gap between music taught in school and the popular music students hear on the radio, integrating the harmony of a cappella music into a contemporary popular format. The group is committed to being good stewards of respect, positivity, and teamwork through fun a cappella music.
Ball in the House will also be performing their full theatrical stage show for the community on Friday, November 17th at 7:00 PM at Valley Forge Middle School in a performance made possible by DELTA (Districts Educating and Learning Through the Arts) and it's member schools. Click here for the flyer and ticket information.
