With your partnership, CVOEO provides individuals and families with the basic needs of food, fuel, and housing support in times of crisis, and helps them acquire the necessary education, financial skills, and assets to build a stable future.

We do this critical work all year long, but November and December represent the busiest time for many of CVOEO’s programs. Given the compounding challenges in our economy, the number of individuals and families seeking support is greater now than ever before.

This month, and every month, we invite you to join us as we work towards economic, social, racial, and environmental justice for Vermonters in the Champlain Valley and beyond. Below are a few of the ways that you can get involved in November.
Warmth Support Program
Every winter, many Vermonters face dangerously low home temperatures because they cannot pay their fuel or utility bills. For more than 35 years, the Warmth Support Program has redistributed community donations to provide more than 92,000 emergency disbursements, helping families and individuals avert life-threatening heating crises.

Community contributions are distributed by knowledgeable and compassionate staff, ensuring that every dollar contributed goes to those in need. Will you join us?
Donations Needed at the Community Resource Center
The Community Resource Center (CRC), located at Feeding Chittenden in Burlington, experiences an uptick in visits during the winter season, with between 85 and 135 people coming in for support each day. Visitors seek hot meals and snacks, respite from the weather, essential items and resources, and help accessing public benefits.

The CRC is seeking donations of new or like-new winter hats, scarves, gloves, socks, and any other warm winter clothing. If you or someone you know is able and willing to donate, please drop off items at the CRC between 9:00AM and 2:30PM on weekdays.
Voices Against Violence Community Event
This year CVOEO's Voices Against Violence program marks the 20th anniversary of the opening of their emergency shelter, Laurie’s House. You are invited to a Press Event and Community Gathering taking place on November 17 at the Voices Against Violence administrative office, 23 Catherine Street in St. Albans. Join us to celebrate the impact of this critical program serving our community!
Empty Bowl Fundraiser
Are you in Middlebury this month? The Middlebury Studio School and Middlebury Natural Foods Coop have orchestrated an Empty Bowl Fundraiser to benefit CVOEO’s Addison Community Action Food Shelf and HOPE. The beautiful, hand made bowls are on view at the Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op to bid on until November 30.
