Our next Women In Business Luncheon is Tuesday November 13th at Pocono Manor, Sponsored by Middle Smithfield Township. This month's luncheon will feature Rick Franzo, The Growth Coach of the Poconos. He will sharing how his own circumstances led him to start his own business and how each of us can benefit from his experience and knowledge! It's a can't miss kind of inspiring topic!

We're also gearing up and starting to look at what kind of events we can bring that will add value to your 2019 calendar!
Save the date for our 2019 Report to Business with the Monroe County Commissioners. Friday January 11th at the Shawnee Inn!

We're continuing to grow our West End Committee and offering this joint event with the Carbon Chamber and Economic Development Corporation. Financing and Resources for farmers and Manufacturers. Tuesday January 8th at the Western Pocono Community Library.

You can always find a member of your Pocono Chamber team at the library from 9 AM - 12 PM on the first Tuesday of every month, immediately following our West End Committee meeting!

Highmark Health & Wellness Fair, November 9 at Kalahari Resort Pocono
 
This is your opportunity to check on your own health and that of your family – practically in your own backyard!
 
You and your family are invited to attend the Highmark Health & Wellness Fair, presented by Eyewitness News (Nexstar Broadcasting Inc., WBRE-TV and Mission Broadcasting Inc., WYOU-TV*) and Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN). The health fair will take place November 9, 2018, at Kalahari Resort, 250 Kalahari Boulevard, Pocono Manor, Pa., from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. At this free event, you can meet health care professionals and learn about healthy lifestyles, obtain health screenings, and get support to quit smoking.
 
The first 100 visitors will receive free flu shots courtesy of LVHN. The timing couldn’t be better! Flu season is upon us, and everyone wants to protect their health for the upcoming holiday season.  
 
The Highmark Health & Wellness Fair will also feature the following opportunities to improve your health:
 
·        LVHN’s brand new Mobile Mammography Coach will be providing on-site mammograms.
o   Call 888-402-LVHN to schedule your appointment.
o   Bring your insurance card with you. (It must be AT LEAST 1 year (365 days) since your last screening mammogram and 40 years of age or older. Mammography Coach is not wheelchair accessible.)
 
·        Health care professionals will offer smoking cessation education with recommendations for effective smoking cessation programs.
·        Free CPR education will be provided.
·        American Red Cross will be accepting blood donations.
·        Information on healthy lifestyle choices will be shared.
