Hello Glastonbury!
As November begins, we’re rolling out a few exciting additions to our collections and services – and I couldn’t pick just one to highlight, so I decided to highlight a few of them!
First, some exciting news for our Glastonbury Community History Archive – We’ve now added fully searchable content from the local papers through 1982. We’ll be continuing this project and hope to eventually have all of our community history at your fingertips.
Second, we’ve added a new digital Magazine service, Flipster. This gives library cardholders instant access to a number of popular magazines via their easy-to-use App. Check out our Online Periodicals page to learn more about it, and our other digital magazines and newspapers!
Third, we’ve added a new collection in our Children’s Department: Tonies! We have a limited number of boxes and figures for patrons to borrow, with characters from your favorite books, movies, and TV shows to enjoy. We're asking patrons to limit checkouts to one or two for now so more people can try them, but we'll be adding more if they are popular!
Finally, we’re SUPER excited to be introducing you to our new MakerSpace Coordinator in November – but since he’s not starting until later this month, I’ll hold that introduction until he arrives. Once he’s settled, keep an eye out for new 2CF Studio hours, programs, and equipment, coming soon to a library near you!
Happy reading,
Amy
PS – On a completely different note, Orange Peel Magazine just published a lovely interview with Glastonbury's Poet Laureate, Victoria Nordlund. Read it here.
