Hello Glastonbury!

As November begins, we’re rolling out a few exciting additions to our collections and services – and I couldn’t pick just one to highlight, so I decided to highlight a few of them!

First, some exciting news for our Glastonbury Community History Archive – We’ve now added fully searchable content from the local papers through 1982. We’ll be continuing this project and hope to eventually have all of our community history at your fingertips.

Second, we’ve added a new digital Magazine service, Flipster. This gives library cardholders instant access to a number of popular magazines via their easy-to-use App. Check out our Online Periodicals page to learn more about it, and our other digital magazines and newspapers!

Third, we’ve added a new collection in our Children’s Department: Tonies! We have a limited number of boxes and figures for patrons to borrow, with characters from your favorite books, movies, and TV shows to enjoy. We're asking patrons to limit checkouts to one or two for now so more people can try them, but we'll be adding more if they are popular!

Finally, we’re SUPER excited to be introducing you to our new MakerSpace Coordinator in November – but since he’s not starting until later this month, I’ll hold that introduction until he arrives. Once he’s settled, keep an eye out for new 2CF Studio hours, programs, and equipment, coming soon to a library near you!

Happy reading,

Amy

PS – On a completely different note, Orange Peel Magazine just published a lovely interview with Glastonbury's Poet Laureate, Victoria Nordlund. Read it here.

The Friends of WTML

The Friends of Welles-Turner are currently collecting donations for our next book sale. Please leave gently used, clean books bagged or boxed, in the donation house at the rear entrance to the library. We are unable to accept books that are in poor condition, written in or damaged.

Please check out our Book Stop on the lower level of the back entrance to the library. The Friends Book Stop is checked and restocked daily. With the holidays coming soon, you will find seasonal books and a variety of other “treasures” that are a great value. Also check out the beautiful hand crafted bookmarks.

Our eBay Charity page is very popular and also includes unique items, click here to take a look. If you would like to save some money on your purchase, check on “local pickup” and shipping will be deducted.

Thank you for supporting the Friends! Visit our website here for updated information.
