Literacy Mentoring Tip
Look around the classroom!

While working with LM Irene Hoffman at Lincoln Elementary (CUSD), Erika saw this hanging on the wall. What a fun tool! It has ideas on different voices students can use while practicing their words.

Feel free to use this idea! And take a quick look around your classroom for any other tools you can use in your time with students.

Many of our site leads gathered together to learn, share, and brainstorm for the year. If you haven't already, you will meet your site lead soon, as they are out and about checking in with you. What made you decide to become a literacy mentor?
I have a passion for reading and I want to pass that along

What was your favorite book as a child?
Ginger in the Jungle

What do you enjoy most about volunteering at Orange Center?
The excitement of watching their faces when they understand something for the first time.

What is your hope for Orange Center students?
I hope that each child grows and has self confidence in themselves.

Who was in an encouraging adult in your life as a child?
Miss Pardu, my kindergarten and first grade teacher. She was so kind and understanding.

What is your favorite Bible verse?
Isaiah 41:10

"I love mentoring and I will do it as long as the Lord allows."
Thank you Rhonda!
