As Diana Hansbury King used to say, "Go as fast as you can and as slow as you must." During this session we will examine Accelerated Learning through an integrated system of support (the MTSS framework). This framework will provide a systematic process and technical support for school communities to make key decisions for the start of the new school year. With accelerated learning, there is a Cycle of Continuous Improvement mindset that will lead to strategic vision, needs assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring, and adjusting. Most importantly, each system supports the success of the others.
The need for designing and implementing a System of Scaffolded Supports that provides a continuum of evidence-based academic, behavioral, social, and emotional supports aligned with students' needs, is more crucial than ever. Embedded throughout all networking days, we will focus on best practices, provide updates from PDE and PaTTAN, and highlight upcoming PD opportunities for teams to enhance current practices.
This first networking meeting of the 2022-2023 school year will provide a foundation for teams to examine their processes, explore accelerated learning to assist with unfinished learning, and connect with colleagues and peers while reviewing current updates from PDE and PaTTAN. The MTSS networking team would like to invite you, your staff, and teams to join us for conversation, collaboration, and connection with colleagues and peers.
All handouts and resources will be shared electronically. Please bring a computer, tablet, or mobile device to access materials for this session.
