There's something fitting about opening this newsletter with a beautiful sunrise over the River. A new day always carries a sense of optimism and that's how we're feeling with the removal of the Luxury Tax on boats as of November 5th. This repeal will provide relief to the entire Canadian boating industry and we're already seeing a renewed confidence after last month's Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.

I'm optimistic that Canada is about to turn the corner and we've begun ordering new larger Tiara Yachts, Boston Whaler and Regals in anticipation of that renewed interest.

Regardless of the economy's ups and downs, one thing remains constant. Boating continues to be that 'Happy Place' for so many of you. Somewhere you can escape to in summer and dream about throughout the winter.

That same spirit rubs off on our Crew as well. More than 30 dedicated professionals come to work each day surrounded by the energy and happiness that boating creates. I'm eternally grateful that over the past 30+ years, I have had the privilege each day to work alongside passionate individuals who pour their talents into enriching the lives of boaters in the 1000 Islands and beyond.

When we get it right, we Make People Happy. It's that simple ... and I can't think of a better way to live life.

-Scott

Where We Boat*

The Baila Mar and 4 Turtles started the journey south from Hucks on a picture perfect day on October 5th. We had a beautiful crossing over Lake Ontario to Oswego. Going through Oswego and Erie Canal is a unique experience. After 30 locks, we made our way down the Hudson, into New York City and will travel south on the Atlantic to Atlantic City. Our ultimate goal is the Florida Keys for December and then Bahamas in January for a few months. We will see you all in May 2026 - Marci, Mark, Jen & Brian

*We'd love to see and hear your River adventures. From all of the submissions, a randomly selected story will be featured in our next newsletter.

Plan Ahead

As winter settles in, the Toronto International Boat Show is the perfect place to spark a little summer excitement and a great way to discover what's new for the boating season ahead. Save the date, book your discounted hotel room, and we'll see you there!

River Roots since 1889

Long before Hucks became known as a premier, full-service marina, Fred Huck opened a blacksmith's shop when he moved to Rockport in 1892. Four years later, the Huck family established a machine and boat-building shop where Fred built his first boat, the Lizzie, in 1898, followed by the Leone (1899) and the Ellen (1901). His most famous creation, the award-winning Gypsy in 1906 (pictured above), set the course for generations to follow.

All-New 2026 Tiara Yachts

The debut of the new Tiara Yachts 39 LS (pictured above) was a great success in the Luxury Sport (LS) line at FLIBS, and Hucks has one on order arriving in Spring 2026. Highlights include the twin Mercury 600 V12 Verado engines, joystick piloting and Garmin onboard integration and the ability to enjoy performance, comfort and versatility.

Tiara Yachts recently announced the addition of the 39 LE (rendering below) to the Luxury Express (LE) model series. This cabin cruiser offers more windshield protection for the captain and passengers, versatile seating in the salon social zone, customizable experience in the aft cockpit and is powered by Twin Mercury 600 V12 Verado outboard engines and features integrated Garmin Marine navigation systems and joystick piloting.

The 39 LE will debut at The Vinoy in St. Petersburg, Florida in January 2026 at The Tiara Yachts Winter Sea Trial Event. For those interested in one-hour sea trials aboard the 39 LS or 39 LE, let us know and we'll get you on the list.
