Good morning, Oceanside!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our November Morning Meeting! It was a full house of community partners, local business owners, and City representatives coming together to share what’s happening in Downtown Oceanside.

Here’s a quick recap in case you missed it:

Community Connections

We kicked off the morning with introductions from our amazing attendees, including representatives from the City of Oceanside, Coast News, Oceanside Pacific Kiwanis, Brother Benno’s, OCNA, and local business owners. Huge thanks to Pier View Coffee for keeping us caffeinated!

Equus Workforce Solutions

Although our guest speaker, Lupe Gonzalez, had to reschedule, we shared exciting info about the Equus Workforce Program—offering fully funded work experience placements for local employers.

  • Up to 20 hours/week at $17.25/hr, including insurance
  • Supports admin, clerical, and light industrial roles
  • Great for businesses needing short-term staffing help

Lupe’s contact information is included below.

Clean & Safe Program Update

Sean Chavez and Danny Daggett shared updates on our Clean & Safe efforts and how we’re partnering with the City of Oceanside, OPD, Gatekeepers, and Public Works to keep Downtown welcoming and secure.

Highlights:

  • Daily cleaning coverage, 7 a.m.–4 p.m., across three zones
  • Increased coordination with the Homeless Outreach Team (HOT)
  • Addressing recent graffiti upticks and seasonal homelessness
  • PBID-funded cleaning and Measure X-funded safety support

If you see something, say something!
