  • CSA Thanksgiving Lunch: November 19, a special Thanksgiving grab and go lunch will take place. Prior registration is required. In person reservations begin Wednesday, November 10 at 10 a.m. in the Social Hall.
  • Thankful Tuesday: On Tuesday, November 23 Recreation Division staff will be handing out goodies to Nutrition Program participants.
  • Don't miss our new workshops this month!
  • The Senior Nutrition program will continue grab and go lunches until further notice.
  • Masks are currently required to be worn at all time inside all City facilities regardless of vaccination status.

Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period 2022 updates

Description: Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program (HICAP) representative will be leading a Medicare Annual Enrollment Period presentation for those to learn more about Medicare changes taking effect on January 1, 2022. Every year, Medicare, Part D drug plans and Part C Medicare Advantage plans make changes to their coverage, costs, including the deductible, premium, and copayments / coinsurance. Will these changes affect you, your coverage or finances? 


Exploring Art with Watercolors

Description: Looking to try something new? Join Movements for the Mind, a high school student led group, in painting with watercolors. Participants will be learning how to use the watercolors to create a beautiful painting. No prior experience is needed so anyone can join!

SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM

Lunches will be served as grab and go in the Senior Center Social Hall until further notice. Please park your car and stand in line accordingly. Distribution will take place Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Lunch menu is distributed on a weekly basis and posted on our website. Please note that due to the high demand, distribution will only take place while supplies last.

Is prior registration required?

No, at this time prior registration is not required. However, holiday lunches do require a reservation. The upcoming holiday lunch is November 19.


What is the cost of lunch?

60 years or older is a suggested donation of $3 and 59 years or younger is $8.


Can I pick up lunch for someone else?

Yes, you can pick up lunch for more than one person however it is required that you bring their ID for verification.

Example of ID: CSA lunch card (previously issued during in person lunch program) or Driver’s License.

 

MONTHLY MOVIES

Movies are on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m.

Come to one of our movie showings in Multipurpose Room B.

Maximum seating for movies is 36. First come, first serve.

When available, screenings have captions for the hard-of-hearing. There is no fee to enjoy these popular movies and seating begins 30 minutes before the show.

NOTE: Please bundle up or bring a lap blanket with you to the movie. The room tends to be on the cooler side.

*Masks are required at all times and no eating or drinking during the show.

Senior Adult Legal Assistance’s (SALA)

Attorneys are still providing legal services over the telephone. To request legal assistance from SALA, persons 60 or older should call SALA’s Central Office at (408) 295-5991 and leave a message. The SALA staff regularly check the messages.

Apple Assistance

If you are in need of help with your Apple products, 30 minute appointments are now available to you via video conference. If you would like to set up an appointment for Thursday November 4, or 18 between 9 - 11 a.m. please email [email protected]

Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program (HICAP)

HICAP provides free and objective information and counseling about Medicare and are currently counseling over the telephone. Volunteer counselors can help you understand your specific rights and health care options. If you would like to schedule a telephone appointment contact HICAP at (408) 350-3200 Option 2. Please leave a detailed message and they will contact you to schedule an appointment. 

Second Harvest Brown Bag

Pick-up will take place in the back of the Senior Center parking lot and in Multi A. Brown Bag will operate under normal hours, 9 - 10:30 a.m. on the first through fourth Tuesday of each month.
