Lakeshore Road / Greenway Circle Drainage Improvement Project

Progress is well underway for the Lakeshore Road / Greenway Circle Drainage Improvement project. The outlet swale between Lakecrest and Greenway Circles is now complete. The wide stormwater outlet ditch and maintenance road will be easier to maintain and permit Public Works staff to access and maintain the outlet at Lake Ontario.

In the spring, a grass seed mixture will be spread over the swale to be left in a natural state.

ο»ΏTim Donaldson Excavation is now installing stormwater pipes along Lakeshore Road to capture as much stormwater into this improved outlet. Piping is necessary due to steep slopes created by ditching the road for both safety and stability purposes.

Work is anticipated to be completed by November 15, 2024.

The Brighton Rotary's tree planting initiative in Brighton is just a small piece of the larger Northumberland 500 Trees Project being collaboratively spearheaded by Rotary Clubs across Northumberland in an effort to combat climate change in our communities.
