- The North State BIA President and CEO, Michael Strech, reports that builder members are continuing to experience strong consumer demand moving into the end of the year. "Home sales typically see a seasonal slow down around the end of the year, but this year home sales are strong. The numbers reflect our members ongoing effort to respond to the state’s serious housing crisis by working hard to bring badly needed homes to the Sacramento area."
Strech continued, "November was the 7th straight month of the highest sales volume since 2006
,
however the BIA members are not losing sight of the goal set forth by Governor Newsom at the beginning of the year. We have a long way to go before we strike the balance of supply and demand. We also must continue to work with local and state leaders to make certain that favorable housing policies will also work to support the need for housing in our region.”
A total of 395 new homes were sold during the month of November. The sales were reported in 165 subdivisions in the six-county Greater Sacramento region from Marysville and Yuba City in the north to Galt in the south. In addition, 10,373 people visited active new-home communities last month.
