2017 Art Show Tickets 
are Now on Sale!

Join us for the 
2017 Through Women's Eyes, By Women's Hands Art Exhibition and Sale. 
Mark your calendar for  February 25, 2017 at the Venetian Foyer & Ballroom - Sheraton Chapel Hill Hotel. 
This year's show will feature dozens of 5 x 7 anonymous mini-masterpieces by new and seasoned women artists from North Carolina. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction featuring works by artists like Jane Filer, Beverly McIver, and Julia Christy, as well as bid on packages like a week at a spectacular 6 bedroom beach home on Harbor Island near Wrightsville Beach, spa services, restaurant gift certificates, and more!

Exciting Opportunities to Support Compass Center 
"Cranberry Cardamom Martini"
This month,  City Kitchen Chapel Hill created a signature drink to help raise funds for Compass Center. City Kitchen will donate $5 to Compass Center for every "Cranberry Cardamom Martini" sold in November.  

Please visit City Kitchen as often as you can this month to order the  "Cranberry Cardamom Martini" and help raise funds to support our self-sufficiency programs and domestic violence services. Also, j oin us Tuesday, November 15, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for a special Happy Hour event to meet Compass Center's staff and supporters.

will host a Community Shopping Event at its  Chapel Hill location to benefit  Compass Center on  Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.   Ten Thousand Villages, a unique shop containing hand-made craftsmanship from communities throughout the developing world, will donate 15 percent of sales during that time to the Compass Center.

Our Impact!
Compass Center experienced a strong demand for services during its most recent fiscal year, which ended June 30, 2016. Here are a few highlights and examples of our impact.  
  • Provided services to at least 5,000 individuals last year.
  • Provided 312 sessions of legal information and resources through our Legal Information services, Community Legal Project, and Family Law Workshops.
  • Financial and career counselors provided more than 241 individual sessions to help people reach their goals.  Career and financial workshops reached an additional 161 community members.
  • Helped 783 people in our community connect to housing, mental health, food pantry and other local resources through our Information and Referral program.
  • Reached 263 teens through the Teens Climb High program, including in-class health workshops and lunch groups with middle school girls.
  • Domestic violence crisis and prevention program saw a 13% increase in demand for services from July 2015 through June 2016.
