For what are YOU thankful for?
As Fall slowly creeps into winter, we watch the trees become bare and the last of our farmer’s harvests being gathered. This leads into Thanksgiving Day, where we pause to thank God for His constant provision. Thanksgiving is a favorite holiday for many as it is free and less commercialized versus the chaos and pressure of Christmas. It is a lot of work for those preparing meals, however, it is time spent together and focused on those traditional values of family, fellowship…and well, football for you sports lovers. This year, we have so much to be thankful for, even in the midst of a world increasingly void of biblical influence. Yet we still say thank you, Jesus, that we can still air the gospel freely over our airwaves. Thank you that we can preach truth from our pulpits. Thank you that we can still pray in public. Lord, please help us to never take these freedoms for granted and to use them as faithful stewards of the truth of your Word.
