Candlelight Gala
Epilepsy Care and Cure

THANK YOU to all those who attended, volunteered and showed their support at this year's Gala. It was a SOLD OUT event, with more than 280 people in attendance, including our 26 sponsors.

Because of generous contributions, we are able to provide free services such as first aid training for teachers, schools, nurses, communities, and families. Youth Programs include Coelho Epilepsy Youth Summer Camp and a new and exciting camp to be announced in January... Thank you for all of your support and generosity.

Stay tuned for more information and pictures.

NEW LOGO

Announcement: With the Epilepsy Foundation, we are proud to announce a new logo combining our commitment to service and research. The new logo represents that we are your bold, unwavering ally.

One in 26 of us will develop epilepsy in our lifetime. Nearly 3 million Americans currently live with epilepsy, making it the fourth most common neurological condition in the United States, and more prevalent than cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease and autism - combined. More than 140,000 people in Northern California are living with epilepsy. Thousands of individuals die from seizures every year.
Rick Harrison's Pawn Stars:
Bold. Unwavering. Ally.

Fan of Pawn Stars? The Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California presents a new public service announcement featuring Rick Harrison from TV's "Pawn Stars." Harrison, who lived with seizures as a child, is now a national spokesperson for epilepsy. Announcements will run on all the A&E television networks starting in November, including HISTORY and Lifetime.

"I had bad seizures until I was a teenager. I thought I wouldn't have the chance to grow up. But, I dared to think differently," says Rick in the national spot. "My epilepsy taught me to be a fighter. When I said I wanted to make a TV series out of my pawn shop, people thought I was nuts. But, I dared to defy the odds and Pawn Stars was born. If you have epilepsy, dare to live to your fullest potential. The Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California will help you dare."
#GivingTuesdaybelow

Black Friday? Cyber Monday? Make a real difference:
Remember us on GivingTuesday--a global day dedicated to giving back.  On Tuesday, December 2, 2014, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

It's a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Help us provide free services to everyone living with epilepsy. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity.
