ICYMI: City Receives Planning Grant for Mass Transit Options

City of Tampa received a special grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. This grant is part of an accelerator program designed to provide low-cost and high-balance loans to municipalities for the purpose of funding major transportation projects. Transportation continues to be the number one issue for the Tampa Bay Region, and access to quality mass transit is still scarce for many Tampa Bay residents. The City will put together a proposal that will include researching multiple mass transit alternatives. Whether that is connecting to Tampa International Airport or passing through the proposed Westshore Intermodal Center, you can be sure that any solution for the Tampa Bay region will include a connection in Westshore. Public Art Update: Fully Funded Mural at MacDonald Training Center!

We are excited to share that the Westshore District Foundation has raised enough funds to finish our mural project at MacDonald Training Center by the end of 2023! Thank you to our generous donors and sponsors for their continued support. The MacDonald Training Center is celebrating its 70th anniversary of operations, and the Westshore District Foundation is proud to commemorate this special occasion with an all-abilities mural that will be displayed on the Reo Street facing wall. Fundraising continues for our mural at Children’s Cancer Center.
