Donate to the Library Today!
On this Giving Tuesday, when groups around the world gather to celebrate a day of giving back to the community, please consider making a gift to the one institution in town that is always free and available to the entire community: the Santa Barbara Public Library!
With the stellar success of the new Children's Library, the Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation
is beginning to raise funds for four new capital projects. Donate or pledge today to
guarantee that the public library remains inviting, useful and on the cutting edge of technology for 21st century libraries!
First among the new projects is a Teen Center. This self-contained gathering space on the second floor will serve as a safe location for the teens who have outgrown the Children's
Library. It is currently being designed by teens working with architects, designers and library staff. Possible uses include a homework area with computers, gaming, sound booth, green screen and 3-D printer. We urge you to join us to make the Central Library the go to place, not only for children, but also for teens. Make your gift today!

We are also moving forward with plans to enhance
the Central Library by raising funds to re-open the Second Floor Patio, paint the peeling, fading historic doors on Anapamu Street and the Faulkner Gallery, and restore the Library Plaza.
The Library Plaza project has passed through the design and approval process; work can begin as soon as funding is secured. The new plaza is similar in design to the historic photo, below. A fitting complement to the beauty of the Central Library, the new plaza will also allow for outdoor programming.
