Hillsborough transportation referendum stays on the ballot – Vote Yes between now and November 8
The Hillsborough transportation sales surtax referendum will be on the ballot, and have votes counted, following a series of legal challenges. The referendum was challenged earlier this month as being misleading. A local judge agreed, but Hillsborough County attorneys appealed to an appellate court, pushing any decision on the referendum to after Election Day.
The Westshore Alliance endorsed the transportation referendum and continues to encourage members and neighbors to Vote Yes for transportation. Several transportation projects in Westshore, including the West Shore Blvd Complete Streets project and pedestrian connections, are eligible to be funded by the referendum. Road, safety, pedestrian, and transit projects across Hillsborough and the cities of Tampa, Plant City, and Temple Terrace would be funded by the referendum. For more information about the transportation referendum, visit the campaign website at AllForTransportation.com.
Early voting remains open until November 6. Election Day is November 8. Mail-in ballots must be received by the Supervisor of Elections by 7pm on November 8. Visit VoteHillsborough.org for more information about voting and to track your ballot.
