Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday!
#GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement meant to unleash the power of people and nonprofits to improve their communities.

HERS is honored to participate in #GivingTuesday via CHEF (Community Health and Education Foundation), a Livermore-based nonprofit that provides resources and opportunities for local nonprofits that foster giving and well-being in the Tri-Valley region.

#GivingTuesday is now LIVE! Donating is an easy process and every donation will be matched by CHEF.

Donate any time now through midnight PST Monday, December 05, 2022. There are two ways to reach the campaign:

  1. Use the direct link: www.CHEFgivingcommunity.org/GT2022 OR
  2. Click the "Giving Tuesday 2022" button on the homepage at www.CHEFgivingcommunity.org.

  • CHEF will match $1 for every $2 donated to HERS through the link
  • Donations are capped at $10,000; CHEF will match up to $5,000
  • There is a $5,000 single donation maximum
  • Donations will be processed securely through Paypal without processing or administrative fees
  • Donors will automatically receive a confirmation email and receipt for their tax-deductible donation

If you have questions, please call or text (510) 386-3964! We are happy to answer any questions you might have.
Ho...HO...HOLIDAYS are HERE!
The holidays are upon us and we have a long list of ways to make the season bright...
Crippsmas Place 2022

HERS will once again participate in (and benefit from) Fremont's beloved Crippsmas Place. This long-standing local holiday tradition features lovingly created displays featuring Disney, Star Wars, and many other characters plus caroling, good cheer, and candy canes!

Visiting Crippsmas Place is a "must" for many of us; if you've never been, now is the time! There is no better way to get into the holiday spirit than Crippsmas Place.

Crippsmas Place will be brightly lit and welcoming visitors from December 10th -31st. For details, including directions, visit their website.

And most important, we need your volunteer assistance, please! Email HERS staff member Lorena Oliva or Crippsmas Place volunteer Kate Amon. Volunteers are needed to hand out candy canes to visitors, collect donations, and supervise volunteer groups.
See's Yum-Raiser

Speaking of local, sweet traditions...See's is a much-loved and delicious tradition in households across the country but especially here in California where See's was founded. In fact, See's has been a part of the Bay Area food scene since 1936!

NEW this year: HERS has a See's Candy Yum-Raiser Storefront and since holiday gatherings and gift giving just aren't complete without See's Assorted Chocolates, Peanut Brittle, Toffee-ettes, and more, buying your candy through our storefront will shorten your gift shopping list AND give back to HERS!

Visit the HERS See's Yum-Raiser Storefront today to place your order. Up to 50% of your purchase will be donated to HERS. Questions? Email Lorena Oliva or call (510) 790-1911.
AmazonSmile

Did you know that 0.5% of every qualifying purchase made through AmazonSmile will benefit HERS?

To make this happen, simply designate HERS to be the beneficiary of your purchases!

It's super easy to register and choose HERS Breast Cancer Foundation as your preferred charity. Visit https://org.amazon.com/ to get started. Need help? Call or text (510) 386-3964 and we'll walk you through the process!

Amazon truly does have everything for your holiday gift and supply needs plus your purchase will support HERS patients.
Gift Shopping Starts at HERS!

HERS carries many lovely items perfect for gift-giving. We have an extensive selection of Laurel Burch-brand totes, purses, scarves, mugs and more. Other brands include Sea 'n Sand hats and Coronet jewelry.

We're also thrilled to offer this adorable Power of Pink 2023 calendar, a fundraiser created and gifted to HERS by the team at Jack London Square featuring their adorable fur babies. Just $5 each, this calendar will keep you smiling all year long!

The calendars are available at our Fremont, San Leandro, and Livermore locations. For more info, call (510) 790-1911.
A Few Final Words On Our 2022 Walk/Run Event
We're thrilled to announce the top Walk/Run individual and group fundraisers. Once again, our top fundraiser was HERS Board Member Funda Dervisoglu who raised a whopping $5,666! Our Top Team was RingABellForStephanie at nearly $4,000! We are so grateful to these hard-working and dedicated fundraisers!
Walk/Run/Yoga Survey Results
We're also thankful for our Walk/Run/Yoga attendees who took the time to complete our survey! Highlights from their feedback include:

  • 76% prefer online registration vs. snail mail
  • An even 40% split between those who prefer our 8 am check-in time and those who prefer 7 am
  • 96% found that our check-in process to be very easy

If you didn't participate in the survey, it's not too late. Send your feedback and ideas to tinaf@hersbreastcancerfoundation.org or call (510) 790-1911 ext. 104.

Congratulations to attendee Kari C. Her survey submission made her eligible to win our $25 Amazon gift card and she was delighted to be chosen! Way to go, Kari!
