Why do we hire the best expert witnesses?

“It's highly rewarding

to make a difference

in the life of someone who has experienced a catastrophic injury."

- Attorney Howard Ankin

Let’s say you’re on the road at night, driving the speed limit, when a vehicle on the shoulder pulls out in front of you. You strike the car from behind, causing a rear-end accident. Since you hit the vehicle in front of you, you’d think you’re the

at-fault driver, right?

This scenario is the basis for a trucking law case where our client’s 18-wheeler ran into the back of another semi-trailer truck that had just pulled from the shoulder back onto the highway.

Several expert witnesses revealed key details that helped us win the case.

An accident reconstruction expert leveraged data pulled from the event data module (EDM) in both trucks to create a video displaying the speeds, braking time, faulty brake lights, and time of impact. This expert witness, along with another trucking expert and deposition testimony, helped Ankin Law prove legal causation and ultimately win a substantial settlement for our client.

Every case has three common elements: liability, damages, and the ability to pay. Experts like the ones hired for this case are routinely brought in to help determine facts such as the at-fault parties, damages, and what medical care might be needed in the future due to permanent injuries.

It’s highly rewarding to make a difference in the life of someone who has experienced a catastrophic injury. As the firm has grown, so has our ability to maximize recovery, hire the best expert witnesses to support our attorneys, and get our clients the help they need. - Howard

Turning a negative into a positive has become his specialty and is the reason the organization he

runs exists. When a little league group he was involved with disbanded, LaVont’e Stewart Sr. wanted a way to continue to help the youth of the South Shore community. So he started “Lost Boyz Inc.” in 2008

– an organization that provides mentorship to kids through organized baseball and fast-pitch softball.

Sixteen years later, Lost Boyz. Inc. is still going strong. The organization has branched out into Chicago communities, helping children continue to grow in various aspects of their lives. “We’ve built something really different – and I think folks need to see it,” said Stewart.
