Casa De Mana Update
La Mision, BC MX Fires
On October 24th, La Mision experienced one of the worst firestorms in decades...
On the morning of the 23rd, a fire broke out miles east of La Mision. Over the next 24 hours the fire, aided by Santa Ana winds and high temperatures, traveled through the community on its way to the pacific ocean. The town lost over 30 stuctures, animals and livestock, but no serious injures or loss of human life occurred. The entire community came together as one to save their town, and all of our minsitry partners including
Door of Faith Orphanage,
Open Arms, and
Rancho Libertad were spared any serious damage. For that we praise God and thank Him for protecting this town that serves so many.
Unfortunately, our Casa De Mana campus was a total loss. We acknowledge this event to be a temporary setback that will not alter the mission or vision. To read the official press release concerning our response following the fire click here
Ministry Press Release
The initial outpowering of prayer and offers of assistance both during and following the fire have been overwhelming and appreciated. The ministry continues without delays and the rebuilding is already underway with a "all hands of deck" this weekend to rebuild the warehouse/distribution center. In addition, this Saturday @ 10AM, Strong Tower Ministries will be hosting a time of "
Celebration and Worship
" at the Casa De Mana Campus. Many of the La Mision community and ministry partners will be in attendance as we give thanks to God as one body of believers. For those wanting roundtrip transportation from the OC and SD area, please contact Jim@STMBAJA.ORG to sign up. Cost is 35.00pp and includes luncheon immediately following the ceremony. Special thanks to
Love Story Foundation
for creating this video testimonial of the fire and invitation to our November 9th event:
