Honor Our Everyday Heroes on Waveny Wednesday
While everyone around the world has their story, their struggle, and their cherished silver linings, we at Waveny LifeCare Network are so proud to be among those at the center of the pandemic, working every day to serve this community. And through all of the challenges of 2020, what bright spot has emerged? Heroes among us.

Heroes like our caregivers, who every day step up and prioritize care for those beyond themselves. Heroes like our community members, donors and volunteers, who selflessly think beyond their own needs to serve others.

During the pandemic, we’ve seen our staff rise to the occasion in many ways. And those health care heroes are incredibly grateful for the support of our communities and people like you.

We hope you join us this year on Waveny Wednesday, November 17th, by making a tax deductible gift to the Everyday Heroes Annual Fund Drive. Please visit the updated link here to make a contribution.
Introducing Waveny's CNA Training Program
Waveny LifeCare Network and Northeast Medical Institute have united to create a state-accredited Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program within the Waveny LifeCare Network System, to support the current and future demand for frontline health care workers.

The CNA Academy will be administered by Northeast Medical Institute and housed at Waveny’s main campus located at 3 Farm Road in New Canaan. All participants in the program will complete clinical rotations within the Waveny LifeCare Network Continuum, as part of the certification process.

Several community-based cohorts of five-week, open enrollment programs have been scheduled and the first one starts December 1. Our community-based program is geared toward recent high school graduates, career changers, and individuals preparing for licensed practical nurse or registered nurse degrees and patient care technicians.

Classroom training will take place at Waveny LifeCare Network in New Canaan. Each candidate will be paired with a staff mentor throughout the program to assist with clinical training and support.

The tuition cost is fully covered by Waveny and includes all program materials and textbooks, one set of navy blue scrubs and access to the state of Connecticut CNA licensure exams. Students receive paid training, classroom and hands-on, transportation assistance and are benefits eligible with a guaranteed position within the Waveny LifeCare Network once they are certified.

If you would like more information or to apply to the program, call 203-594-5200.
Waveny-VNH Safe-At-Home Telehealth
Technology can never replace compassionate face-to-face medical interfaces, but through enhanced, real-time video conferencing, patients are just a few steps away from being connected to a healthcare professional.

Telehealth engages patients in their care to improve clinical outcomes and quality of life. If you are currently on service with a Waveny-Visiting Nurse & Hospice licensed RN, you may qualify to receive hospital-level care via the Waveny-VNH Safe-At-Home telehealth program.

The Safe-At-Home (home care, hospice care, the Inn, residential) standard telehealth remote patient box includes a suite of comprehensive tools to assist the patient and/or a caregiver within the home to conduct a remote assessment via telehealth with a Waveny-Visiting Nurse & Hospice RN. The patient monitoring system allows for real time visits and real time intervention. Our clinicians are able to do medication training, assess wounds and other physical symptoms, view oxygen tubes, take weight and pulse oximeter measurements and many other clinical benefits, in addition to being able to reduce patient anxiety.

From heart failure to hospice, diabetes to COPD, hypotension to palliative care, Waveny-Visiting Nurse & Hospice Telehealth may be a great option for your healthcare management. If you would like to learn more, ask your Waveny-VNH provider for more details.
