NCHS Students to Capture What is 'Behind a Voice' at The Inn

A lovely group of ninth grade students from New Canaan High School are working on a project with our Inn residents called "Behind a Voice." Each resident will be interviewed by a student during multiple visits to learn more about the residents' childhood, growing up and their adult life; the responses will be compiled and published in a professionally bound keepsake book for each resident. What a treasure for both the older generation and the younger one, as well as for the families who will undoubtedly cherish the stories of their loved ones!

Waveny LifeCare Network Celebrates Donors with an Evening of Gratitude

Waveny LifeCare Network hosted an Evening of Gratitude on November 9, 2023 to show our appreciation for our donors and their legacy, and to honor Kathleen A. Corbet and her family for their establishment of the Kathleen M. Fruin, RN Certified Nursing Aide School. The Fruin School offers the first step into a nursing career that transforms not only the lives of the students, but equally important, provides the next generation of nurses for Waveny’s patients, residents and their families. With the national and regional shortage of nurses, this continued investment is more important than ever.

During this season of gratitude, we hope you will include Waveny in your gift giving so that together we can continue to provide 5-Star quality and compassionate care for those who need us the most. Click here to make a donation today.

Halloween Fun at Waveny

We thank each and every one of our employees and staff members who participated in our annual Halloween Parade, creating a fun Halloween for our residents!

Waveny-Visiting Nurse has a special group of hospice volunteers who participate in the 11th Hour program. These volunteers receive extensive, specialized training that goes beyond standard hospice volunteer training so they can be at the bedside of a patient in their last hours of life. These dedicated volunteers offer assistance to the patient and family that could include household tasks, sitting with the patient, reading to the patient and other services.
