What's Happening November
Librarian's Corner
Bad libraries build collections, good libraries build services, great libraries build communities.
–R. David Lankes

It was great to have the October calendar filled with events. Some of the highlights were the Eggplant Festival where we
provided outreach through art activities, sharing program information, and signing people up for library cards (51 to be exact). We will end October with our giant book sale on the 26th and 27th - this is the last chance to purchase books at 2018 prices. Thanks for your donations and to the many volunteers who dedicate their services to enhance our library. We couldn't do it without you!

What's ahead for November?

California Library Association Conference (CLA).
I will attend the CLA from Nov. 12-15, in Santa Clara, CA. This is the biggest library conference in the state and there will be many opportunities to learn, grow, and share. I'm honored to represent our town library and to enhance the visibility and recognition of small libraries. More to come when I return.

Large Print Book Donation
We received a generous donation of Large Print (LP) books from a member who is downsizing. Large Print books are hard to come by and are very expensive. Many of our members have already read our entire collection of LP books and this donation offers exciting additions to the collection.

Programs, Events, and More!
The November Calendar is also jam-packed with ongoing and special events. We are getting a good turnout for most offerings and we continue to partner with community members to add programs and activities. As our programming grows, we have a greater need for community volunteers. Please let us know if you have a skill that you would like to share or if you would like to help with any of our events. We want to give a special shout out to Happy Road Farm for the Flower Crown Workshop, Aaron Hernandez for the origami workshops, and to Peggy Word for the Chocolate dipping workshop - all happening in November!

With Gratitude
November is the month to step back and appreciate all that is good in our lives. We are so thankful for your generosity, good will, hard work, and unwavering support for our library. Wishing you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving!

The Library will be closed from Thanksgiving Day, Nov 22 - Monday, Nov 26th. We will be re-open on Tuesday, Nov 27th at 1:00 pm.
We are committed to finding more ways for the library to serve our community. Please let us know what we can do to meet your needs!
