Thankful Beyond Measure: Celebrating Our Incredible Educators | | |
Hey Teacher Fam,
November is here — and it’s time to pause, breathe, and refocus. 🍁
By now, the rhythm of your classroom is in full swing, and the days are moving fast. Between lesson plans, meetings, and caring for your students, it’s easy to put yourself last — but this month, we’re inviting you to do the opposite.
Our focus for November is Stress Management — taking time to care for you. Reflect on what’s working, where you can create space for balance, and how you can protect your peace during the busiest season of the year. Remember: you can’t pour from an empty cup. When you refill yours, you have even more to give your students.
Inside this issue, you’ll find simple ways to restore balance, helpful tips to manage stress, and reminders that your well-being matters just as much as your work.
You’re making an impact every single day — but this month, we want you to take a moment to feel that impact, breathe it in, and give yourself permission to rest. 💛
With appreciation,
Chelsea Davis
Director of Educator Engagement

For Giving Tuesday, we’re creating something special — a series of short videos featuring YOU, our amazing educators, and the Classroom Central resources that have made a real difference in your classroom.
We want to highlight a variety of programs, big and small, and we know the best stories come straight from the teachers who use them every day. Whether it’s the Free Store, Mobile Free Store, Learning Lockers, Teacher Launch Box, TeachPrep, Ed Exchange, our PD sessions, Innovation Station, Lending Library, or even those “small but mighty” supplies like crayons, notebooks, and pencils — your voice matters.
| |
What We’re Looking For
We hope to feature around eight teachers who are willing to share a quick, heartfelt look into how Classroom Central has supported your students. Each clip is just 20–30 seconds and includes:
- Your name
- Your grade/subject
- How long you’ve been teaching
- How long you’ve been coming to Classroom Central
- And one item or program you’re especially thankful for — plus how you use it and the difference it makes
These videos can be recorded right from your classroom or during a visit to Classroom Central.

Question: What’s your biggest classroom management challenge right now?
- Keeping students on task- 8%
- Managing transitions - 84%
- Reducing disruptions - 8%
- Building relationships - 0%
The teachers have spoken! When it comes to classroom management, the biggest challenge is managing transitions. And it makes perfect sense — those in-between moments can make or break the flow of your day. Smooth transitions save time, lower stress, and help your classroom feel calmer and more predictable for both you and your students.
Chelsea's Classroom Chronicles: When I was in the classroom, I practiced my transitions with my students every single week — not because they didn’t know what to do, but because I wanted those moments to feel smooth, predictable, and stress-free for all of us. And here’s what I learned: practicing transitions isn’t just about procedures. It’s about trust.
When students know you care for them, respect them, and set them up for success, they respond in the same way. That trust creates a ripple effect — students follow directions the first time, the energy in the room stays calm, and you gain valuable minutes back for teaching (and breathing!).
✨ Pro Tip: Strong transitions aren’t just a routine; they’re a relationship-builder. And they truly change everything.

| | | This month’s spotlight is all about creating healthy boundaries in your workday — so you can protect your well-being while still upholding strong, clear classroom expectations. Finding this balance helps you show up as your best self, maintain a sense of calm, and create a learning environment where both you and your students can thrive. | |
RCA Strategy: “Set the Stage Before They Arrive”
(Inspired by Ron Clark Academy’s emphasis on energy, clarity, and structure)
What it is
This strategy is about preparing your classroom environment, expectations, and routines before students walk through the door — so you’re not spending your energy constantly correcting or redirecting throughout the day.
At RCA, teachers “set the stage” with routines that feel predictable, engaging, and student-owned, which reduces teacher stress and supports a calm energy in the room.
Why It Matters
When expectations and routines are crystal clear and consistently reinforced, you save enormous mental energy.
This supports boundaries because:
- You spend less time “putting out fires.”
- Students know exactly what to do without relying on constant verbal reminders.
- You free up more of your day to teach rather than manage behavior.
- A predictable environment lowers stress for both teachers and students.
Students thrive when boundaries are firm but caring — and teachers thrive when the classroom runs itself.
| | | |
How to Implement It
Here’s a practical way teachers can use this right away:
✅ 1. Pre-set expectations for every transition
Before students enter, decide:
- What should students be doing the moment they walk in?
- What materials should they have in hand?
- How long should the transition take?
- What should it look and sound like?
Post this visually where students can see it every day.
✅ 2. Teach it, model it, and practice weekly
Just like RCA teachers rehearse procedures, set aside 3–5 minutes each week to:
- Model the transition as you want it done
- Have students practice it
- Celebrate when it’s done well
- Reset calmly and try again if needed
This reduces stress dramatically because students no longer guess what you expect — they know.
✅ 3. Use positive energy to reinforce boundaries
Ron Clark is famous for high energy, positivity, and celebration.
You can do this in simple, sustainable ways:
- Use a quick affirmation or “Nice work, team!”
- Give a class point for a smooth transition
- Acknowledge effort: “I see how focused you were. Thank you.”
This builds trust — students feel respected, so they respond with respect.
Why It Works
- Students behave better when routines are rehearsed.
- Predictability lowers anxiety.
- Strong systems reduce teacher workload and emotional fatigue.
- Boundaries feel safe, not strict — helping you maintain calm authority without burning out.
This RCA-inspired strategy helps teachers reclaim precious minutes each day, maintain a peaceful classroom climate, and protect their own emotional well-being.

This Month’s Tip
Grace Over Grind
This time of year is full of sparkle, celebrations, and a whole lot of extra. But here’s your gentle reminder: you do not have to be an overachiever to be an amazing teacher.
Your students don’t need perfection — they need you: present, grounded, and well.
Give yourself permission to:
- Choose simple over spectacular
- Rest instead of rushing
- Say no when your plate is full
- Protect your peace without guilt
The holiday season can be joyful, but it can also be overwhelming. Taking care of yourself isn’t just self-care — it’s self-respect. Slow down, breathe, and remember that you deserve the same care and compassion you give your students every single day.
| | Pro Tip: This season, let “good enough” truly be good enough. Your well-being matters more than the extras. | | Educator Discounts & Perks | |
