November 2022

A Note from the Program Manager

Greetings!

As we begin our celebrations of National Native American Heritage month, Veteran’s Day, and the Thanksgiving holiday, we have much to be thankful for at Arizona PTAC. We are thankful for our clients, staff, hosts, and community resource partners.

Thank you to all Veterans for their service.

With the holiday season upon us once again, we know this is a busy time full of professional and family responsibilities. AZPTAC is here to assist you with your government contracting goals. Stay in touch with us and let us know how we can help!

If you are not currently a client and would like to become one, visit our website at azptac.com and click on New Client Info for more information and to submit a new client form. You must be a for-profit business and be located in the State of Arizona.

As you might already know, the Center for Verification and Evaluation (CVE) is no longer taking VOSB/SDVOSB as of October 24, 2022. The certification is moving to the SBA in January 2023. We will let you know as soon as we have more information on the process. Read more about the transition here

Our offices will be closed on Nov. 11 in observance of Veteran’s Day. We will also be closed on Nov. 24 and 25 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

We wish you a wonderful month of celebrations.

Warm regards,

Lori Haozous

2022 NAICS Codes Changes Coming to SAM.gov and FPDS.gov

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes classify businesses to help federal agencies collect and publish statistical data related to business goods and services. The NAICS codes were recently updated. More details about the updated NAICS codes and descriptions are available at this link.

NAICS codes on SAM.gov used by entity registration and contract opportunities will be updated on October 27, 2022. NAICS codes on FPDS.gov will be updated on October 29, 2022. Check the announcements on the sites for downtime information.

If your entity registration is active, NAICS changes may affect your SAM.gov entity registration. If your registration is impacted, you will be notified by email to update your registration.

Check your saved searches, search filters, and followed items to make any needed changes. If you use system interfaces, application programming interfaces (APIs), extracts, or data entry processes, check your systems and begin to use the updated NAICS codes. Federal government users of the SAM.gov Opportunity Management API can view API documentation at open.gsa.gov/api/opportunities-api/. Users of the SAM.gov Get Opportunities API can view API documentation at open.gsa.gov/api/get-opportunities-public-api/.

SAM.GOV PRO TIP

PTAC Tip:

If you have an expiring registration, start your renewal at least 30-60 days prior to the expiration date. This will help prevent your registration from expiring should there be any issues with your renewal.
