November 2024 News

We’re Thankful for Our Students and Educators!

As we reflect this season, we’re grateful for the opportunities to collaborate with local students and incredible educators who make every project meaningful. Read on to see some highlights from this month’s work!

Sunbeam’s Superheroes

At Sunbeam School, 6th Grade Cross Categorical students tapped into their creativity and resilience by designing digital superhero logos using Procreate. These logos reflected scholars' personal identities and the challenges they’ve overcome.

The final designs were printed on t-shirts and tote bags, and the excitement was contagious—even the quietest students were proud to showcase their creations. The next day, a few students wore their shirts to school, proudly sharing their work with classmates.

Impact Schools: Intensive Arts Integration

Our Impact Schools program has officially launched for the 2024/2025 school year! Building on Arts Impact’s commitment to arts integration, this intensive delivery model brings complex, interdisciplinary art projects into elementary classrooms. Impact Schools has grown and evolved through careful adjustments and expansion based on our learnings over the past two years.

This year, four of our talented artists are working directly with:

  • Paul L. Dunbar Arts Enrichment Academy: 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders
  • Wilbur Wright PK-8: 4th graders and a special education class of 2nd-5th graders.

Depending on the grade level, students will engage in 30-45 hours of arts integration, fostering creativity and deeper connections between art and learning.
