The last few weeks have been immensely difficult for so many of us throughout Grand County. We have lost homes, treasured items, and even friends and loved ones. Through it all, the community has risen and come together to prove how strong Grand County truly is. This is a time to be together, but not in the way we planned when we structured our annual event.

The effects of the East Troublesome Fire on our community are indescribable. And, yet, the work of firefighters, first responders, the Sheriff's office, support teams, local volunteers and the well wishes of folks near and far have been a comfort. We have a long road ahead, but we are so proud of the strength and resilience of our Grand County community.

Hats Off for Headwaters!

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of the Colorado Headwaters Land Trust, thank you to everyone who attended our 25th anniversary event, Hats Off for Headwaters: Virtual Event Series and Online Auction!

While it was interrupted by the East Troublesome Fire, it was still a great success for us and we look forward to another 25 years of protecting the lands we love - with your help. The money raised at this event will go towards our conservation efforts, stewardship fund, and operating budget. The land trust is a nonprofit organization, which means that we are largely funded by individuals and businesses like you and the sponsors listed above. We are so appreciative to be in this community and have such great support for our efforts to preserve and steward open lands within the headwaters of the Colorado River for agriculture, water, wildlife, and vistas, in partnership with landowners and for the benefit of all.

A big thanks goes to the CHLT Board of Directors and staff and their families for their help and dedication to the land trust and this event. We are truly grateful for being in such an outstanding, supportive community. We hope everyone enjoyed the event as much as we did.
