Congrats to our Most Recent CMC Graduate!
We are pleased to announce that we have a new graduate of the Community Ministry Certificate program. Sionainn McLean is a polytheist, fire witch, priestess, spiritual counselor and now community minister. Sionainn is the Irish spelling of her name that she uses as she decolonizes herself and her practice, as well as honors her ancestors. She loves camping, hiking, writing and gazing into a fire under the night sky. Going through the CMC program, she says, has been a joy as well as deeper exploration of her own beliefs and the impact she can have on the pagan community. During the program Sionainn started Liminal Raven Ministries to help reach out to those in need of spiritual support. She is a lifelong learner, and is continuing her journey as a student with the CHS Spiritual Direction program and Sacred Wells Deacon training program. Sionainn noted:
The CMC program gave me confidence to build on my own beliefs, while exploring other belief systems....I feel more secure in my own beliefs, while acknowledging my own growth and potential for growth, as well as being more comfortable with being open to sharing sacred experience from outside my tradition.
My advice for those going through the program behind me is to keep going and find your voice. Find what makes you wish to serve and create what you find is lacking in your community. Open yourself to new possibilities, and never limit yourself to one idea. Grow and evolve, and never stop learning."
Congrats Sionainn!

More Community News
The Search Committee for a new Academic Dean have been interviewing candidates for a successor to Dr. Candace Kant and hope to make an announcement soon.
Arran Morton (formerly Liddel) , a student in our MDiv Program, has started a two-year half-time internship with the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association this month. Since joining the UUMA as an Aspirant, Arran has been impressed and inspired by the organization's creative and thoughtful work in changing its culture to be more inclusive of the diversity represented within Unitarian Universalism. He has witnessed how much UU institutions, through modeling, education, and policy, can: energize and shape the UU movement, support and guide the way for ministers and congregations to develop healthy organizational structures, lead creatively, and dismantle white supremacy culture. He is thrilled to be supporting this work at the UUMA over the next two years as he continues his journey to ministry!
