NOVEMBER NEWS
November / 4 / 2019
Dear Forest Hills Family and Friends,

I hope all the baseball fans enjoyed celebrating the historic win by our own Washington Nationals last week. Go Nats!

Coming up this month we have plenty to celebrate ourselves, including a special Thanksgiving Day Dinner. We are also looking forward to our impressive schedule of Life Enrichment programs, put together by our Life Enrichment team led by Claudia Campusano. Hopefully you have gotten the chance to congratulate Claudia, she's already rocking her new role.

Finally, this month's Information Directory, which has already been distributed to residents, can be found by clicking here

As always, I am available to talk with you about our community and welcome you to drop by anytime.

Happy Holiday Season!

Hope to see you around,

FROM THE KITCHEN CORNER

Have a Plant (TM)
Why Fruits and Vegetables?

Eating more fruits and vegetables is thought to improve physical health, but there may be another reason to put some plants on your plate.

Recent research suggests that eating more fruits and vegetables might make us happier and more satisfied with life.

The DASH diet, which is full of fruits and vegetables, has also been linked to both physical and mental health benefits. With short- and long-term benefits and almost no downside, eating more fruits and vegetables is something we can all focus on.
Spotlight on Forest Hills Resident
Therrell Smith

November's Spotlight is on Therrell Smith, a native Washingtonian, dance instructor and leader in the arts community who celebrates her 103rd birthday this month. In 1948, Ms. Smith propelled her quest for inclusivity into the arts and founded a school of classical ballet for African American girls. She maintained her school and continued to teach for seventy-five years. We are honored that Therrell Smith joined the Forest Hills family in October of this year.
