Jen Carey Davis, artist and community leader
Gloria Hall, historic preservationist and cultural arts presenter
William Thompson, artist
Moderated by Toby Sisson, artist and professor of studio art, Clark University
How does Black art matter? What does contemporary art mean to Black artists, educators, and leaders? What does it mean to be part of the Black artistic diaspora? Join us to hear an informal conversation on these questions, and learn more from some of this city’s Black artists and arts leaders.
This Worcester-based conversation is the first of a four-part speaker series hosted by ArtsWorcester. The series amplifies Black voices in contemporary art to broaden understandings of Black art history, visual vocabularies, and experiences within the visual art industry.
This webinar event will take place on Zoom. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

The Eighth Annual One

|
|
Now through November 8, 2020
This fall marks the return of our largest annual members' exhibition, The Eighth Annual "One." Packing the galleries with work, the "One" shows the work that each artist most wishes you to see, regardless of medium or theme. Engage with this exhibition in our galleries at 44 Portland Street, as well as on our website.
About this exhibition
Over 150 works by ArtsWorcester artist members will be on display, showcasing a diverse range of media, technique, and subject matter. Year after year, the "One" proves to be our most engaging exhibition, illustrating the scope of our artists' practices.
The Eighth Annual "One" runs Thursday, September 10 through Sunday, November 8, 2020. This exhibition will be on view in the East and West Galleries, as well as on our website.
Know before you go
What do I need to know before my visit? We enthusiastically welcome ten visitors at a time. If we have more than ten, you will be asked to wait briefly outside until another visitor leaves. All gallery visitors must wear a mask or face covering in our galleries.
When are gallery hours? Gallery hours run Thursdays through Sundays, 12:00 to 5:00 PM. ArtsWorcester exhibitions are always free and open to the public.
Can I view this exhibition online? Yes! Gallery views and images of individual artworks will be available on our website and social media feeds. As this exhibition progresses, artist talks and additional virtual programming will bring you even closer to featured artists and their work.
