Every scholarship we award tells a story of resilience, determination, and hope. This month, we are proud to share the words of Nahjee Hemingway, one of our scholarship recipients whose creativity and drive are shaping both her education and her future career.

Nahjee is currently pursuing her associate’s degree in Digital Production, with plans to earn a Bachelor of Applied Science in Marketing and a minor in Communication. Her vision is to become a Creative Director or Marketing Director — using her talents not only to build a career but to make a difference in society.

In her letter to Kids’ Chance of Maryland, Nahjee reflects on how the scholarship has eased the financial burden of college, allowing her to focus on academics, expand her portfolio, and earn professional certifications in digital marketing. She shares her excitement about beginning a digital marketing internship next semester and her dream of launching a magazine and website to highlight young talent in fashion, marketing, and art.
