Dear Colleagues,

We have so much to be grateful for this time of year! This week we have witnessed an outpouring of kindness to those living through the devastating fires in California. SilverNest is helping provide housing for seniors who have been displaced.

This holiday season is a time when families and friends come together. Reach out to some of the seniors in your network this year and invite them to a special meal! Home cooked foods and scents from the past create an ideal atmosphere for connecting.

Don't forget that time is running out to reserve your seat for the first-ever Washington Innovation in Longevity Summit next month!

New AARP Family Caregiving Monthly Digest
Last month, AARP announced the launch of their new Family Caregiving Monthly Digest! Nancy LeaMond, Chief Advocacy & Engagement Officer at AARP (and a keynote speaker for our Summit next month!) shared that the new digest  is about those 40 million Americans currently caring for loved ones and it is created for the policy-makers, practitioners, advocates, leaders of industry, media, and communities who have the power to change the conditions in which America's family caregivers live, work, and care every day.
Each month, AARP will bring readers a shortlist of the biggest developments affecting caregivers across the country.  They hope this will be a useful source of information and insights. And as many of you are fighting for this same cause every day, they would love to share the news of your campaigns and victories as well. Connect with AARP about family caregiving by emailing .

Marketplace: Silver is the New Gold

A recent Marketplace article by Lisa Napoli called "Silver is the New Gold" highlights the work of Mary Furlong in the longevity economy. Mary is quoted in the article discussing the importance of the purchasing power of older adults:

"If you're in the care industry, you should be looking at the kind of woman who wants to upgrade to a luxury car with great sensors, so she can continue to drive. If you're in travel, you better be aware they're going to take six or seven trips a year."
