Boo! Apple Cider, Wicked Witches, Haunted Houses and Pumpkins… They are all part of this very special time of year!  

Thanksgiving reminds us how everything begins with an attitude of gratitude no matter how challenging the times we face. So, considering what we have all been going through for so darn long, let’s have some fun with our feature story: “How to Use that Precious Pumpkin.” Fall is always associated with pumpkin, and this unique looking fruit has so much more to offer us than scary faces, crooked smiles and a filling for holiday pies. Pumpkin is one of the most nutritional foods available year-round. How so? Guess you better read the story!...Oh…and yes…I’ve included some yummy recipes.

Speaking of food and fall… “Why Eat Apples?” will not only convince you to be eating more of these delicious “vittles” (as Granny used to say on The Beverly Hillbillies) but why they should be a staple in your diet… And you guessed right again…two more mouthwatering recipes! 

A shout out to our friends at the Palm Beach North Chamber, which hosted its 2021 Palm Beach North Woman of the Year annual luncheon on October 29 at the Wyndham Grand Jupiter. Congratulations to Emily Pantelides and all ten finalists for their fine examples of professionalism, community leadership, service and integrity. 

Our beloved Glenn R. Swift recently addressed the Palm Beach Chapter of the World Affairs Council with a presentation entitled: “Nicaragua in Crisis.” Glenn explained how the upcoming election in Nicaragua will be little more than an electoral farce and what the United States can do to defend democracy in that beleaguered country.  

Last, but never least, please check out Jan Davisson’s Curtain Up for the exciting live theatre season planned for the Palm Beaches. Alas! This upcoming season is what we have all been waiting for. Believe me, there are big plans for some fabulous shows!
