November is National Hospice Month

East End Hospice, along with thousands of hospice programs across the country, celebrates the extraordinary care we offer patients, caregivers and families. Hospice programs nation-wide strive to “meet you where you are," be it literally by treating patients in the comfort of their own homes, spiritually in tailoring support to one's unique beliefs, or emotionally by helping people understand that choosing hospice does not mean giving up hope or quality of life

East End Hospice improves lives across Eastern Long Island through expert care, comfort, and compassion for terminally ill patients, caregivers, and grieving families.

Our nurses, aides, social workers, volunteers, and staff care for more than 750 patients; support caregivers, family and friends, during and after the end-of-life journey; and provide grief and bereavement services to more than 350 community members each year. EEH covers 250 square miles of the East End.

Innovating Health Care into the Future on the East End presented by the Express-News Group will take place online this Thursday, November 10, from 6:00-7:00 pm and will feature a panel discussion of Local Hospital Leaders, including our very own CEO Mary Crosby, discussing the Future of Medicine on the East End.

We Honor Veterans

East End Hospice proudly participates in We Honor Veterans, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). We Honor Veterans promotes support for hospice patients and their families by providing resources, emotional support, and Veteran volunteers to offer companionship and socialization.

EEH is working toward attaining Level 2 partnership, which recognizes higher standards of hospice care for our veterans and comprehensive specialty programs for veteran patients, families, and the community. East End Hospice continues to strive for a veteran-centric culture.

Congratulations, Volunteer Graduates!

Last month, thirty people from across the North and South Forks and Shelter Island, completed our annual patient family volunteer training.

New graduates join more than 160 dedicated volunteers to offer care and support in patients' homes and at our Kanas Center for Hospice Care.
