Meet Our Team!

Becca Barboa - she/her - Becca is from Roswell, NM but made a home in Pueblo in February of 2018. She’s been diligently serving in Peer work since the summer of 2022. When asked what she likes about Pueblo, Becca says, “I have absolutely fallen in love with Pueblo and its awesome, diverse community. Pueblo has become home to me.” Her pride in this community is reflected in her work. Art is her passion outside of Peer work. Becca loves anything crafty or artistic and believes it’s an effective outlet for her. She also likes puzzles, games, and anything Sci-fi. When it comes to Becca’s recovery story she’d like to share this: “Recovery for me has been about my healing journey and creating a life that I am excited to wake up to every day. Recovery is an ongoing process of growth and continual maintenance for me. I have been sober from Alcohol and Drugs since 6/06/2020 and it's been the best decision I have ever made.”

Group of the Month

Depression and Anxiety

Wednesdays 2-3 PM

This group focuses on checking in with one another about our week, triggers and coping strategies for depression and anxiety. Each person uniquely has and requires different tools and methods to help them cope with their symptoms, sharing these with one another helps each of us reach our personal wellness goals.

A Message From Our Executive Director

Friends,

Pivot; I use the word often. We often pivot here at Friendly Harbor. The recent snowstorm presented a challenge with our Painting Party fundraiser and gave us yet another opportunity to pivot. Consider coming on the new dates, December 5th or 6th. With the help of Randy Ford, we paint, enjoy good food and refreshments compliments of 80/20 Wines, and generally have a great time! You'll come away with a lovely painting that you create and a better understanding of Peer Support work.

I'm really quite thankful for our ability to pivot. It is essential to the work and amazing at times. In a world filled with overwhelming challenges, the ability to come at those challenges from a new direction and with new energy every day is key.

Please let me know if you have questions about Friendly Harbor's work and I hope this is the start of a wonderful holiday season for all of you!

Best,

Michelle Hill

Executive Director
