Celebrating Our Journey
November is a month of gratitude.
We invited some friends of High Watch to reflect on what they were giving thanks for this year:
"I am grateful for the life I have today because of finding High Watch. After a dark moment in April 2004, I came here not knowing how much my life would change. Thanks to this experience, I found sobriety and a career I love. I now have a wife and son—things I never thought possible—and a renewed reason to live. They say gratitude is an action word, and I try to express that gratitude daily." L.S.
"I am grateful for the incredible life that sobriety has given me. I know peace today and cherish the love of my family, friends, and colleagues. I feel fortunate to work in an organization with such a powerful mission that helps so many people." D.E.
"I am grateful for the ability to wake up every morning sober. I cherish being present in my children's lives and appreciate my loving, dedicated husband who shares my core values. I am thankful for the fulfilling work I do and my faith in a Higher Power, which helps me navigate life's challenges with dignity and grace. Everything good in my life stems from my sobriety, and I owe High Watch for this second chance." B.H.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to facilitate art therapy for our guests in treatment. It’s fulfilling to encourage self-reflection and creativity, and I appreciate how High Watch provides the space and materials that help guests fall in love with art." D.C.
"I am thankful for the supportive friends and family who are always there for me, providing encouragement and love. Each day brings new experiences that shape who I am, and I am grateful for the lessons learned along the way but most importantly, I am thankful for the little moments of joy that brighten my day, whether it's having meaningful conversations with my kids or a warm cup of coffee while watching a beautiful sunset in the evening. These moments remind me to cherish life and the people in it." D.R.
