COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SIGN UP

Only one middle school youth is selected each year to serve on the Hands4Hope Youth Board, and this year that youth is Vidditi Khanna. Vidditi is an 8th grader at Sutter Middle School, and the President of her Hands4Hope Club. Already in her Hands4Hope journey, she has planned a fundraising carnival event, partnered with an adult for a Big Day of Giving campaign, and participated in Community Engagement Opportunities. Vidditi says that her experiences with Hands4Hope have shaped her to be "resourceful, a quick thinker, and a problem solver." Read more about Vidditi in her spotlight!

MEET VIDDITI

Youth Committee members, youth leaders, and adult mentors are wanted to join the 2024-2025 Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference Empty Bowls Committee!

The Committee will work on planning and running this annual fundraiser that supports various causes that fight hunger. There are opportunities to be a part of coordinating bowl and food donations, marketing, operations, volunteer management, and hunger education. The event is set for Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in the Forni Building.

Committee interest surveys are due Friday, November 13.

Tickets are available now for the 2nd Annual Nashville Songwriters Live Benefit Concert at Folsom's Harris Center for the Arts on December 17, 2024! The audience raved last year about the memorable and intimate opportunity to listen to songwriters Jeffery Steele, Mark Mackay, and CJ Solar play their music and tell the stories behind their hit songs. Don't miss out this year!

Sponsorship opportunities are available now.

The 11th annual Hands4Hope Warm & Fuzzy Drive is continuing to accept donations through November 15 at Sandra Gallardo Elementary, Green Valley Elementary, Gold Trail School, Heritage Community, and Snap Fitness Shingle Springs. See the website for details about items being accepted and specific dates.

Meanwhile, sorting and counting of donated items has begun, as the Committee prepares for Winter Boutique to take place during the first two weekends of December. Sorting events are currently scheduled for November 4, 5, and 7; and more dates for sorting, set-up and preparation will be added to the calendar throughout November and into December. Youth of all ages and adults are needed to participate.

The annual Blanket Making Party will take place at Camerado Springs Middle School on Friday, November 15 from 3:30-5:30 pm, and all ages are welcome. No experience is required to make cozy no-sew blankets that will be given to those in need.

The 7th Annual Hands4Hope Fall Festival kicked off the fall season with fun for hundreds of children and their families on October 12 and 13 at El Dorado Hills Town Center. The event, planned and managed by a service-learning Hands4Hope Committee of 20 middle and high school youth, involved more than 150 volunteer shifts, and raised funds to support Hands4Hope's mission to inspire and empower youth in leadership and service.

We want to extend a humongous THANK YOU to everyone who made the 4th Annual Hands4Hope Endless Summer Beach Party a success! This event, which is responsible for raising about a quarter of Hands4Hope's overall operating budget, involves a tremendous cooperative effort by numerous volunteers, business partners, sponsors, donors, and professionals. We are grateful to everyone who contributed with their donations, helped "rescue" our brave volunteers, placed bids on auction items, and attended the event. Please read our recap to see and thank everyone involved!

ENDLESS SUMMER RECAP

Now through November 12, Hands4Hope sweatshirts are available for pre-order, with distribution expected in late November. If you would like to show off your involvement in Hands4Hope while staying cozy in cool weather, choose from a crewneck ($25) or hoodie ($30) in chocolate brown or ash gray.

You might have seen one of the direct contributions of Doug Veerkamp Engineering at the recent Hands4Hope Fall Festival, where they bring their vintage tractor to pull the hay ride trailer each year, much to the delight of attendees of all ages. But, that's just scratching the surface of the ways that Doug Veerkamp Engineering supports Hands4Hope. We are so grateful for their tremendous, continued support as a program and event sponsor.

They say they believe in building future leaders through Hands4Hope, because the organization "instills leadership and problem solving skills along with qualities of hard work and service that we as a company also value."
