BLUE ROOM
FAIRBANKS ARTS ASSOCIATION
This meeting will feature "The Lotus Fold," an origami-styled binding that was featured at a recent workshop at The Folk School Fairbanks, led by Gustavus, AK book artist Artemis BonaDea. Come to the meeting to hear a report of the workshop and make a model of this lively structure. It can be used in so many ways!
Note that our starting time is now 4:45, to accommodate those who want to purchase supplies at Paper Birches, the Guild's very specialized bookmaking supply store. See below for more information.
Do you have ideas for future Guild meetings?
WINTER CARD EXCHANGE - come prepared!
Join in the winter card exchange! Make a winter-themed greeting card, using your choice of materials and structures. Bring it to the meeting in a brown paper lunch bag. Bags will be collected and numbered at the start of the meeting, members will draw a number, and open their corresponding bag. Surprise!
Also...come prepared to talk about ideas for our January Book Exchange!
WAXED LINEN
We will place a group order of waxed linen at the November meeting. (This helps you save big money on shipping!) The price will be $14 per 4 ply spool. We will have a sampler card of color options on hand, but if you wish to preview the possibilities, visit the Royalwood website:
