MMAMTA Monthly News
Dear MMAMTA members,

On behalf of the Mid-Missouri Area Music Teachers Association, thank you for all the hard work you do to make our communities that much better every day. It may be small acts individually, but collectively, we have a bigger impact in these students' lives.

There are two news to this newsletter - one business, one personal. Please read both.

First, business about upcoming 2 deadlines:
Odyssey's "Kids@Heart" : Request for ensembles was due November 25 . If you are still interested, there is room for maybe 1 or 2 more shorter ensembles - please let me know by December 3 . Teachers and students of any age are welcome to collaborate; the theme is "Global Express." A character piece would be perfect! We will perform first half of the program, followed by Wontanara - African Percussion group. You may submit 1-2 groups pending the length of the program. Write to Ayako, atsuruta@aol.com.

MMAMTA/Pre-Collegiate Concerto Competition is due Friday, January 3, 2020 : Information on the web site is now updated, with the downloadable PDF application form and information. https://www.odysseymissouri.org/concerto-competition.html

Second is a sad news. W e express our deepest sympathy for Karen Larvick upon the passing of her husband, Russ Greenhagen, on Sunday, November 24. May God bless her and her family with peace and comfort in this difficult time. Condolences may be sent to: Karen Larvick, 1258B Duane Swift Pkwy, Jefferson City, MO 65109. (Thank you Janice and Jan for your help.)

Wishing everyone a meaningful Thanksgiving-

Ayako Tsuruta
MMAMTA President
