VIA’s New Office

VIA is thrilled to announce a significant milestone for our organization! We are proud to share that we have officially moved to a new office location -3524 W National Ave With this location being on one of our most prominent commercial corridors in Silver City, it allows VIA to continue to grow our impact and only strengthens our mission to be a partner in building strong, healthy neighborhoods where all of us can thrive. This strategic move represents our commitment to enhancing our services, resources and improving accessibility to neighbors and partners.

We look forward to welcoming you to our new office. Thank you to the School Sisters of St. Francis and the Sacred Heart Center for hosting VIA these past 27 years, we are grateful for your support. We are excited about this new chapter and the opportunities it will bring for our organization and the community.

What VIA's Been Up To!

VIA's Spooktacular Day

We hope that you enjoyed being a part of VIA’s Spooktacular Day - thank you to all who participated and supported the event. It was a fun and festive day of pumpkin painting, trick or treating, hot champurrado, a costume contest and more. Thank you to our community partners, local vendors and our presenting sponsors Masterson Foods & Milwaukee County Office of Equity for being part of this spooktacular day and making it a successful event. We hope to see you again next year.

Turnkey Home Sold

This past month, one of the four Turnkey Renovation homes that VIA developed in the Lindsay Heights neighborhood was sold! This home is the second Turnkey home to be sold in partnership with the Milwaukee Community Land Trust. Congratulations to another Milwaukee Family on becoming a homeowner - VIA is proud to be a part of this significant milestone. Affordable, safe, and healthy housing is the foundation to strengthen and revitalize neighborhoods where everyone can thrive.

Story Garden

Story Garden, located in the Burnham Park neighborhood at the intersection of 29th and Burnham Street, received a facelift this fall!. With the support of AARP WI’s ‘Small Dollar, Big Impact’ grant VIA was able to introduce a brand-new garden bed and offer essential garden tools to enrich the community garden experience for neighbors. This project is a direct result of one of Burnham Park’s block leaders’ direction and involvement. The block leader, in partnership with Groundwork Milwaukee and VIA, will continue to work with neighbors to activate and maintain the space going forward.

Active Street on Pierce has concluded for 2023

From biking with Alderwoman Zamarripa, to Zumba with Dance Studio 611, organizing a neighborhood rummage sale, creating inspirational yard signs to developing a large scale art installation! Neighbors came together to activate their street! The Active Street was a collaborative effort with the Department of Public Works (DPW), Artists Working in Education and Clarke Square neighbors. We thank the City of Milwaukee and DPW for the opportunity to lead the Active Street on Pierce.

The Active Street on Pierce is part of the initiative to serve different neighborhoods in relation to traffic control and providing opportunities of art and wellness. We will be back in Spring 2024!
