Join us for Close-Ups with the Clauses on Saturday, December 2nd! 🎅🤶 This FREE community event includes portraits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, complimentary refreshments, and activities. 🎄 Each attendee who takes a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus will receive a link to download a digital copy of their photo after the event! 📸

This year, we have added a sensory-friendly hour for individuals who are on the autism spectrum or have sensory-related challenges. During the sensory-friendly hour, lights will be lowered, and music will be turned off to promote a calming, quiet environment.

“C’mon Barbie, let’s go to the Christmas Parade!” 🎀🎄 We are still raving about how awesome our Barbie and Ken dolls looked at this year’s Owensboro Christmas Parade! What better “gift of Christmas” than unwrapping your favorite Barbie or Ken doll on Christmas morning...well that’s exactly what our residents gave us, but LIFE-SIZED! 🌟

Our Recreation and ICF team did a “fab-tastic” job creating the perfect pink float incorporating all the accessories Barbie needs. A huge thanks to our Maintenance Crew for helping us set up!

Our Barbie & Ken’s braved the cold to put on a show for Owensboro. What a joy the holiday season is; we are so thankful to get to love and serve the people we do! Sending warm wishes and lots of cheer from the Barbie and Ken Crew at Wendell Foster! 💗

Since 2017, Wendell Foster's Angel Tree has provided Christmas presents to WF residents and children in the community. We're excited to bring the tree back for another season of spreading holiday cheer! Angel Tree ornaments are now available for pick up in the Elmer Administration Building on Wendell Foster's Campus, 815 Triplett St. in Owensboro. The Elmer Administration Building is open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. All gifts must be returned unwrapped by Monday, December 18th.

We are accepting donations of wrapping paper, gift bags, tissue paper, batteries, and gift tags for the Angel Tree gifts! These donations can also be dropped off at the Elmer Administration Building by Monday, December 18th.

1. Choose a numbered envelope. Take any ornament off the tree! Please note, resident requests are gift cards only!
2. Sign out your number(s) on the Info Sheet. Include your name, phone number, and your envelope number. If you select multiple envelopes, please make sure all numbers are included on the Info Sheet.
3. Purchase an appropriate gift(s). We ask that you spend between $50 to $100 per ornament. Many families have multiple children on the Angel Tree, each with their own ornament, and we want to make the purchases as fair as possible to avoid one child getting more than the others.
4. Return the ornament(s) with the unwrapped gifts to Amber Lashley in the Elmer Administration Building by Monday, December 18th, 2023!

In this season of Thanksgiving, we can't help but thank our amazing staff members who make a difference every day in the lives of those we serve! To show our appreciation to our dedicated Difference Makers, Wendell Foster's Rewards and Recognition Committee held a Thanksgiving brunch in the Young Building for all staff 🍳🥓. Staff were also given turkey cards (Kroger gift cards) as a gesture of thanks for all they do to support our care recipients.

Without our 350 employees, we truly couldn't fulfill our mission of empowering people with disabilities. Thank you for changing lives every single day! ❤️
