Hi Friends!
Wow, it's already November and it feels like 2022 just went by in a flash. The next few weeks will go just as quickly with Thanksgiving and the Holidays just around the corner. Things are as active as ever at the Chamber, too with our Hiring Fair next week, all our regular connection opportunities and the Christmas Parade in just a few weeks! I hope you will join us for one or more connection opportunities.

ALSO, make sure to take the time to nominate someone (or yourself!) for a Heroes of Vista Award! Nominations are now open and we want to celebrate all the Heroes of Vista in March 2023!

The theme this year is "A Toy Stories Christmas", with our Grand Marshal being the Toy Man of Vista!

Velocity, Vista Chamber Podcast
Last month we got to hear from two great guests on the Velocity, Vista Chamber Podcast.

Kevin Humphrey, Superintendent of Guajome Schools talked about the importance of communicating with students and being understanding of the different learning approaches available.

Julie Lowen was named the 2022 Businessperson of the year at the 2022 Heroes of Vista. She goes over what inspired her career in childcare and what's next for her organization, Children's Paradise.

Graffiti Removal Program
The County has examined rates of graffiti cases in unincorporated communities and found a disproportionate number of cases in certain communities. To help address this impact in communities, the County of San Diego is developing a program where the County could remove graffiti on private properties at no cost to the property owner. 
Entrepreneur Bootcamp
The City of Vista, in partnership with Strategies 360, is offering a free online entrepreneurship program that will provide new and aspiring Vista business owners with instruction and support to prepare for and/or launch a new enterprise. 
Cybersecurity Awareness Program
The Cities of Carlsbad and Vista invite local small businesses to participate in the North County Cybersecurity Awareness Program. The program is FREE to participating small North County businesses, made possible by grants from the Cities of Carlsbad and Vista.

November 1 - HOPE for the Holidays Mixer
HOPE for the Holidays Mixer to kick-off the holiday season in support of families with children and single women experiencing homelessness in our community.
November 4 - New Haven Holiday Bazaar
Two of New Haven’s student-run businesses will feature their work for you to purchase. Celebrate and support their student-run programs by purchasing delicious goodies from Catering4Youth students AND come early to buy custom cutting boards, Adirondack chairs and pens crafted by students from Woodcrafts, Etc.
November 5, 12, 19, 26 - Vista Farmers Market
The longest running farmers market in the county (since 1981) open in all weather EVERY Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon.
November 12 - ABC Hopes 2022 Vista Row-A-Thon
ABC Hopes is honored to partner with Crossfit Trifecta on our upcoming Row-A-thon! We are excited to be back after a few years away!
A portion of the proceeds raised at this event will be used to support Dakota Sinnett's Leukemia Treatment and Medical Bills.
November 12 - Dogleg Brewing 3rd Anniversary Celebration
Join Dogleg Brewing at this FREE event to celebrate their 3rd Anniversary. Doors open at noon, BBQ starts at 1pm, music begins at 2pm.

November 15 - Awareness Walk for Youth Homelessness
November is National Runaway & Homeless Youth Awareness Month. Please join the community in amplifying our voices to end youth homelessness. Rally will begin at YMCA's TAY Drop-In Center (215 Barnes St., Oceanside, CA 92054) and end at the Oceanside Municipal Pier. 
November 18 - Vista Twilight Market
A monthly local food and craft market with live music and a kid's zone.
November 19 - Kids Turkey Trot
Hey kids! Join us for a pre-Thanksgiving 1-mile Turkey Trot and receive a custom Turkey Trot t-shirt! Make your run extra fun and come dressed up in your favorite Turkey or festive Thanksgiving attire!
November 19 - Novemberfest 2022
Join us for the 8th Annual Novemberfest at Alta Vista Botanical Gardens
Breweries, Mead, Wineries, Shopping, Silent Auction, Food, Free Parking, & Live Music by Oceans Band - A Pearl Jam Tribute
