What’s Happening With WII?

We are still fully energized from the networking and education sessions of ISA Fall Summit. It was great to see so many attendees follow our Women in Industry track. The comments we received in our post-summit survey reflected the quality of this event: “This was my first ISA Fall Summit, and it was amazing!”, “I feel it gets better and more engaging every year.”, “It was invaluable to hear about the challenges others in my field face during The Exchange session, which helped us build relationships and share ideas.”

Thank you to all who attended!

To keep expanding our networking opportunities, we launched our First Friday Coffee Chit Chat virtual networking sessions in September. Our monthly Coffee Chit Chat is a 45-minute virtual meetup designed for engaging conversations, networking, and exchanging ideas with industry peers from around the US and Canada.

WII Mentorship Has Launched!

On Friday, November 1, the Women in Industry Leadership Committee proudly launched the new Women in Industry Mentorship Program! This program offers focused support and guidance, promotes professional growth, and fosters meaningful connections to empower women and men in advancing their careers. Through a network of allies and advocates, participants are set up to achieve their full potential.

We're thrilled to see this program come to life and can’t wait to support everyone on their journey!

Nice to Meet You, Megan!

How did you get started in our industry?

I started my career early on, almost by accident, with no real intention of staying in distribution or manufacturing. But over time, I gained valuable experience and developed a true passion for the work I do. I love bringing practical, impactful solutions to my customers and helping people any chance I get. Meeting new people and seeing new things are highlights of my work that keep it exciting and fulfilling.

What Should WII Read?

Our Iceberg is Melting –

Changing and Succeeding Under Any Conditions

by John Kotter and Holger Rathgeber

This book is a fun approach to how we all react to change. As we follow the story of a group of emperor penguins who are challenged by the iceberg they call home melting, we learn all about how to navigate change. Some of the characters embrace change and others resist. You will be entertained by Fred, Alice, Louis, Buddy, the Professor and NoNo. All of this highlights the eight-step process of successful change. Buckle up for an entertaining journey!
