Meet Dr. Morales: His Research Changed the Course of Urology !

Join us on December 5, 2022 at 7pm as Dr. Alvaro Morales provides us with a history of BCG and answers many questions about this form of immunotherapy.

Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG), what is it? How was it discovered? How did it become a common form of treatment? Dr. Morales discovered that BCG could be used to treat non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, which became the first proven immunotherapy for cancer!

This session will be facilitated by Dr. Madhuri Koti and will be offered in French & English.

Meet Glen

Volunteer Role: Treasurer and Director BCC, Vancouver Walk Committee Member, BC Support Group Co Leader
Fun fact about Glen: I am a die-hard Vancouver Canucks fan. I have been a fan for 50 long years. Only a few teams have not won a championship in over 50 years. It has taught me a lot about patience. The quote I live by is " You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" Wayne Gretzky

Why are you passionate about volunteering for BCC: I feel giving back to an organization that does so much for me and other Bladder Cancer patients and caregivers is a shot I had to take. I have met so many great volunteers and Bladder Cancer Survivors during my time with BCC it is hard not to want to be involved. They all inspire me to be better and do better.

Warm Welcome to our new volunteer:

The Giving Garden
Monthly Donor Program

We take pride in being a safe space for those living with a bladder cancer diagnosis and the caregivers supporting them. With our bladder cancer community in mind, we’ve created The Giving Garden - a virtual place of love and hope, created to recognize the generosity of our monthly donors.

If you are not already a monthly donor, join The Giving Garden today! Your commitment, hope, and support can help our free programs and services flourish for years to come.
Many thanks to our friends and supporters who recently held personal fundraisers for anniversaries, birthdays, and other important life events to support BCC and the work we do.

We would like to recognize as this month’s fundraising stars, Miranda and Angus.

Once again, we'd like to extend a sincere thank you to Angus and Miranda for their generous contributions and support!
