Event Updates

A Hole-in-One for the Environment

We’re thrilled to share that our 34th Annual GO GREEN Golf Tournament was a tremendous success! Thanks to our incredible sponsors, volunteers, and golfers, we enjoyed a beautiful day at The Plantation Golf & Country Club and raised over $22,000 to support and expand our environmental protection and preservation programs. Your continued support helps Keep Lee County Beautiful make a lasting difference. 

Marine Cleanup Makes a Big Splash for the Environment

More than 100 dedicated volunteers came together across two locations to remove thousands of pounds of trash and debris from the waterways, beaches, and mangroves of the Estero Bay Aquatic Preserve. After all their hard work, volunteers celebrated with a well-deserved lunch at Parrot Key. A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers and generous sponsors who made this event possible: Tunaskin, Ron Jon Surf Shop, Surfing's Evolution & Preservation Foundation, Waste Pro, Town of Fort Myers Beach, Lee County Solid Waste, Salty Sam's Marina, Sea Tow, Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation, Norm's Beach Parking, FPL, Lee County Parks & Recreation, College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving, Refresh Medspa, Willscot, TCK, Keep Florida Beautiful, and Keep America Beautiful.

Spreading Environmental Awareness at the Monster Mash Bash

Our Litter Prevention & Education Coordinator Chris joined the fun at Lee County Parks & Recreation’s Monster Mash Bash at Veterans Park. Amid all the Halloween fun, our coordinator helped educate families on the importance of protecting our environment sharing tips on proper waste disposal, recycling, and keeping our parks and neighborhoods clean.

Northwest Regional Library

Our Education Specialist Jenn participated in the Plant Prop Swap program at the Northwest Regional Library. During the event, she shared information about KLCB's mission and programs, inspiring attendees to get involved in keeping our community clean, green, and beautiful.

Youth Council Explores SCCF’s Marine Conservation Efforts

Our Youth Council recently toured the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) Marine Lab and facilities, gaining firsthand insight into the organization’s research and conservation programs. The members learned about SCCF’s efforts to protect coastal ecosystems, study marine life, and promote sustainable environmental practices. Keep Lee County Beautiful, Inc., established in 1989, is the county’s largest volunteer-based community action and education organization. This local nonprofit forms public-private partnerships and programs that engage individuals to take greater responsibility for improving their community environments.
