RECENT EVENTS

Trivia For a Cause

Our Lions Club partnered with the Schaumburg AM Rotary Club to host our annual trivia night at St Peter's Lutheran Church in Schaumburg. We enjoyed a night of friendly competition as our clubs raised funds for our community projects, including a special donation for the St Peter's food pantry, serving our neighbors in the Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates area.

In addition to the fun trivia game, attendees also purchased raffle tickets for the chance to win the great auction baskets that were available.

COMMUNITY INITIATIVES

We recieved a "Thank You" letter for our donation to the Lions of Illinois Foundation goal to raise funds for a Mobile Screening Unit

We also recieved a "Thank You" letter for booking a Mobile Hearing/Retinal Screening Unit for Seniors at the Schaumburg Township.

Coats for Kids

Our Club purchased 25 coats and donated them to the Schaumburg Townships Coats for Kids Program.

If you would like to get involved with our donation drives please reach out to our Club!

PADS Food Serving

We served pulled pork, salad, garlic bread, mashed potatoes, green beans and cupcakes for dinner at PADS.

PADS provides safe shelter, comprehensive case management and advocacy to homeless men, women and families in northern Kane County and Hanover and Dundee Townships.

If you are interested in volunteering please let Lion Jo Anne know by email or text/call her at 847-791-3806.

National Federation of the Blind (NFBI)

Our Club was a sponsor of the National Federation of the Blind (NFBI) State Convention. The event took place at the Naperville Mariott on October 28-30.

Leslie Hamric is shown in picture sharing her story. She will also be attending our Lions Club meeting tonight!

Buddy Baseball Challenger League

Our Lions Club donated $250 to our local Challenger Baseball League. The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges

One of the benefits of having a Challenger Division is that it encourages the use of "buddies" for the Challenger players. The buddies assist the Challenger players on the field, but whenever possible, encourage the players to bat and make plays themselves. However, the buddy is always nearby to help when needed.
