A word from the Horseshoe Bay POA

MESSAGE FROM YOUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

November is here! It seems like just a little bit ago we were talking about summer and now we have the start of the Holiday Season approaching us quickly. This month we are all eager to gather with family and friends and celebrate, whether you have a traditional Thanksgiving or a Friendsgiving, we all have plenty to be thankful for. Your Board of Directors is thankful for our community support and we will continue to strive for doing our very best to find ways to better our community as a whole.

The Horseshoe Bay Property Owners’ Association has three openings for the Board of Directors 2023 – 2026 term. Applications packets are available, starting November 1st, through December 2nd 2022.Interested applicants can pick up packages from the HSBPOA office or find it online at HSBPOA.org or contact Linda Burling at [email protected] for more information. This is a great opportunity for all of our residents to consider getting involved in a very active POA board so if you are willing to serve your community, are prepared to be transparent and willing to collaborate in a friendly and integrated manner please consider joining our Board of Directors.

We are excited to see four of our Capital Projects be underway with the aesthetic betterment of the different residential entrances in our community. We have conceptual renderings for Thanksgiving Mountain and Waterlands created by Omar Garza of Garza Made, which retain the original aesthetic concepts withing our community but bring a touch of freshness reflecting our natural setting.

For Thanksgiving Mountain, we focused on widening our original foot print of the entrance and leaving it ready for future street improvements to be made as needed.

At Waterlands, we opted to eliminate unnecessary columns in order to open up the view of incoming traffic and enlarging the turn radius to accommodate large profile vehicles.

The Fire Department West (FD W) Kiosk located on Broken Hills, HSB West, is in its final stages toward completion.

The 60 CBUs are installed and the kiosk structure looks amazing. Solar operated motion detection lights are also a feature being added. There is sufficient space for residents to receive their mail/packages in a safe and secure environment. Packages too large for these CBUs will still be picked up at the Post Office.

This is a work in progress and continues as the first of several initiatives within HSB West.

Please ensure your personal information is up-to-date by logging in to the HSBPOA web site: hsbpoa.org and update your profile.

We are working diligently with the HSB Post Office Station to ensure a smooth transition for mail delivery from one mailbox to the other. Instructions to residents are forthcoming from the HSBPOA when all procedures are finalized.

Concurrently, CBU/mailbox requirements for the remaining areas within HSB West are underway. More work still needs to be done and we are continuing to refine the plans for the next phase(s) of development.

Please direct any questions / comments you have to our office as this is the HSBPOA capital improvement project.

Safety On the Road

A Golf Cart is a motor vehicle designed by the manufacturer primarily for use on a golf course. TxDMV does not title and register Golf Carts, but Golf Carts are eligible to receive a Golf Cart license plate. You may obtain a Golf Cart license plate from your county tax assessor-collector’s office. The county will require a Form 130-U Application for Texas Title and/or Registration.

Golf Carts with a Golf Cart license plate may be operated on roads in the following situations:

  • In a master planned community with a uniform set of restrictive covenants and a county or municipality approved plat
  • On a public or private beach that is open to vehicular traffic
  • On a highway with a posted speed limit of 35 mph, during the daytime and not more than two miles from the location where it is usually parked for transportation to and from a golf course
  • To cross intersections, including an intersection with a highway that has a posted speed limit of more than 35 mph.

Golf Carts must have the following minimum equipment:

  • Headlamps
  • Tail lamps
  • Reflectors
  • Parking brake
  • Mirrors
  • Blinkers
  • No Holding Toddlers
  • No Alcohol

Additionally, cities or certain counties may authorize operation of Golf Carts on roads within the boundaries of the city or within unincorporated areas of certain counties. The Golf Cart must display a Golf Cart license plate when operated on roads authorized by the city or county. Operation may be authorized only on roads with a speed limit of 35 mph or less.

If operated on the roads at a speed of 25 mph or less, a Golf Cart is required to display a slow-moving vehicle emblem.
