It's the Season of Giving! From November 15th through December 31st, keep an eye out for NOVA Thrift Shop's Giving Tree when you pop in to shop! The holiday tree will be adorned with paper ornaments, each correlating with a donation amount. Simply choose an ornament that matches the amount you wish to give and bring it to the register during checkout. Every dollar donated goes directly toward of NOVA's mission of supporting victims and survivors of crime in Bucks County.

Holiday Goodies Incoming: The holiday season has arrived at NOVA Thrift! Our festive jewelry collection is now on sale, and we have a wonderful selection of Christmas trees of all sizes available in-store. We are continuing to accept tree donations throughout the season (please make sure that pre-lit trees are still in working condition). Be sure to also keep an eye on our Silent Auction in the coming weeks for an array of unique vintage holiday decor and two stunning fur coats!

Visit the NTS Tree at the Pearl S. Buck Festival of Trees! Each year during the Annual Festival of Trees, the historic rooms of Pearl S. Buck’s stone farmhouse come alive with the sparkle and charm of the Annual Festival of Trees. This beloved Bucks County tradition features beautifully decorated trees created by local community groups, artists, and designers. NOVA Thrift Shop is thrilled to once again be part of the celebration! From November 12th to January 4th, be sure to stop by our tree in the living room and cast your vote for your favorite display.

We're Always Accepting New Volunteers! Looking for a meaningful way to give back to the community? NOVA Thrift Shop is always on the lookout for dedicated volunteers to help us make a difference! Whether you love sorting unique thrift finds, organizing displays, assisting customers, or working behind the scenes, there’s a place for you on our team. If you are interested in volunteering, you can inquire at the shop or call Maria White, Thrift Shop Manager, at 215-249-8000.

A Reminder Regarding Donations: We’re always grateful for donations and encourage donors to consider the condition of their items, especially hard goods. While we can recycle textiles, unsellable hard goods ultimately need to be disposed of, which impacts our resources. Please note that items with cracks, chips, or other damage can’t be resold. We have the right to reject items if broken, damaged, or heavily soiled.

For the safety of our team, we also kindly ask that if you're donating a heavy item, please bring someone along to help with lifting. We also ask that individual bags of clothing weigh no more than 30 pounds each.

Be sure to check out our donation guidelines to see what we can and cannot accept! Thank you for your generosity and for helping us provide quality items to our community.

NOVA's Forensic Nursing Program: A Decade of Healing and Hope

This year, NOVA's Sexual Assault Forensic Nurse Program celebrates 10 years of providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to survivors in Bucks County during their most vulnerable moments.

Our specially trained forensic nurses do more than collect evidence... they restore dignity, offer comfort, and stand as unwavering advocates for healing. Behind the scenes, our dedicated credentialing assistant ensures every nurse maintains the highest standards of certification and training, keeping our program at the forefront of best practices in forensic care. Together, this team works seamlessly to ensure survivors receive expert, compassionate support exactly when they need it most.

The impact of this program extends far beyond the exam room. For ten years, we've been a beacon of hope in our community, providing critical forensic evidence for both sexual assault and intimate partner violence cases that supports justice, connecting survivors to counseling, advocacy, other resources, and partnering with law enforcement and hospitals to create a coordinated response to violence. Every survivor we serve knows they are believed, supported, and not alone.

Ten years. Countless exams conducted with dedication and compassion. Lives forever changed by the healing power of care delivered with dignity and respect. Here's to a decade of transforming trauma into hope, and to the many years of impact ahead.

Full of Thanks, Free of Waste

As the season of gratitude arrives, it’s the perfect time to pause and reflect on the things that truly matter — community, kindness, and connection. This November, NOVA Thrift Shop invites you to embrace a more mindful way of celebrating by being full of thanks, but free of waste.

With holiday gatherings, gift shopping, and decorating on the horizon, it’s easy for this season of abundance to turn into a season of excess. But by choosing to thrift, reuse, and repurpose, you can enjoy all the beauty and comfort of the holidays while reducing your environmental impact. Every pre-loved item you bring home tells a story that is rooted in sustainability and community care.

Looking for ways to start? Try setting your Thanksgiving table with thrifted dishes and vintage glassware for a one-of-a-kind look. Repurpose baskets or serving pieces for fall centerpieces filled with pinecones, candles, or greenery. Or explore our racks for cozy sweaters, scarves, and outerwear that keep you warm through the chill of November, all while keeping textiles out of landfills.

Every thrifted find at NOVA Thrift Shop helps fund services that support victims and survivors of crime in Bucks County, while also sustaining NOVA’s prevention education programs, meaning your sustainable choices not only make an impact close to home but also help build safer, more informed communities.

This holiday season, let’s celebrate in ways that honor both the planet and the people around us. Together, we can create a season that’s full of gratitude, generosity, and good intentions while also being free of waste.
