The plan to place a sewer plant in KC around Interurban road & Hoover, close to Todd Creek was discussed. Opponents are concerned about pollution and odor. They also believe that the KC Council should be in attendance at meeting on 11/13. Some have already expressed opposition to sewer plant being put on Hunt Midwest land. Sam Graves also sent letter opposing this spot. An alternate site has been proposed by the opposing team (SOS). They want to place the plant by KCI airport which is away from housing and not a threat to polluting water or air quality. This group is connected to Sierra Club and a St. Louis lawyer. We will hope to hear more information from the meeting from individuals that attended the meeting; Sharen Hunt and Dawn Dolbee.

The December Meeting will be a Platte County Women's Group cookie exchange on 12/11 or 12/12. Cookie exchange (or other sweets): 3 dozen cookies w/ recipes to exchange. Appetizers (5 people from each group sign up to bring snacks/appetizers) Two potential locations: Events at Green Briar or Cactus Creek cellar. At Green Briar we would have to supply drinks. Cactus Creek has drink services; each would pay for their own beverage.(alcoholic drinks, water and lemonade).

Platte Country Democratic Central Committee

The Platte County Democratic Central Committee met on November 16th at the KCPD North Patrol meeting room.

Discussion on the planned Music and Mimosas event centered around the availability of Crystal Quade as keynote speaker. An available date at Argosy Casino would also have to match Quade's schedule

The upcoming Missouri Democratic Presidential Caucus was discussed. A search for an adequate venue for in-person voting is ongoing. Mail-in voting will also be available. More information from the Missouri Democratic Party is coming.

John Kirchmeier is taking over the job of distributing monthly newsletter along with maintaining our website.

It was decided that the December meeting would be canceled and that members could volunteer to wrap gifts at Synergy.
